I have a few questions which I am sure will lead to discussion .

1\. Will Wests Magpies have a team in the 2012 NSW cup ?

2\. Will BRET have a team in the 2012 NSW cup ?

3\. Will Wests Magpies have a team in the 2013 NSW cup ?

4\. Will BRET have a team in the 2013 NSW cup ?

5\. What will the Wests Tigers funded NSW cup team for season 2013 be called ?

As I understand the answers are :
1.Yes
2.Yes
3\. No
4\. No
5\. Wests Tigers

Can some one plz correct me if I'm wrong ?

If my answers are all correct , that would mean balmain are in the exact same predicament as Wests magpies ?

2\. Will BRET have a team in the 2012 NSW cup ? YES

3\. Will Wests Magpies have a team in the 2013 NSW cup ? NO FUNDING HAS BEEN PROMISED

4\. Will BRET have a team in the 2013 NSW cup ? PROBABLY DEPENDS IF THE MAGPIES DO

5\. What will the Wests Tigers funded NSW cup team for season 2013 be called ? IF THE MAGPIES ARE KILLED OFF, WESTS TIGERS, OTHER WISE I ASSUME IT WILL BE BRET AGAIN

I still don't get why Balmain people are so eager to see their 104 year old club drop out of the NSW Cup?

Surely there is some fight left in the Balmain Boys?

Yesterday, was a special time for us, tomorrow is a special time for our kids. Wests Tigers is the answer for a bright tomorrow.

That brings me to my point , balmain will also no longer have senior football team ? Yet there is hardly any noise coming from them ?

I'm sure there will be options for Wests Magpies and some form of Balmain Tigers in Bundy Red Cup to continue there history at Senior Level…

I wouldn't think it's eagerness. It's that we want wests tigers to be even stronger.

I want to get back to the days where NSW cup was a real 2nd teir comp and you could watch all the blokes on the fringe or returning from injury on game day… At the same ground as 1sts!

This year we will have some great players in there.

Personally, I was a passionate supporter, still am. Sad when we merged.
But I'm not going to get upset over a logo. Wests tigers is my team now. Memories will stay memories.

If wests drop out, I think Balmain should go. It's the only fair and equitable way

Wests Tigers need to respect the history and contribution of both clubs to the joint venture by naming a state cup team 'Wests Tigers' not balmain or magpies.

I think the main reason there is very few people kicking up a stink about Balmain not being in the NSW Cup is because most have little or no interest in it. I prob go to 1 or 2 games of NSW cup a year and prob go to more than almost anyone.
As a Balmain fan, my club and history lives through the West Tigers, there is plenty of Balmain in there for me. My good mate is a West fan, he sees it exactly the same, he always calls them Wests, I was call them the Tigers, we are both happy. He compares current players to Les Boyd and John Dorahy, I compare them to Wayne Pearce, Roach and Gary Jack.

Whether there is a team running around in a comp I dont care about is irrelevant to me, the West Tigers for me is a continuation of the Tigers for me, and Wests for the old Maggies fans.

Couldn't agree more goose. After the months and years of squabbling I still cannot fathom how people can get this wound up over a reserve grade team. I'd be surprised if there were more than 2000 people that religiously went to watch both BRET and Wests who aren't watching due to family or close friend participation.
Surely common sense has to prevail at some stage?

I dont know Fraze…

I still support my old club, Brisbane Easts Tigers and will take as many opportunities to get to there games where possible even though I live 100kms away. I realisticaly see them as a Reserve Grade Team, so I can understand why some want to maintain some passion towards the Black Birds.

What I dont understand is why they cant accept the Wests Tigers is the future, and everyone needs to get on board to ensure they remain at the forefront for our future generations. It appears the WT's believe having one State Cup Team is the future, so they should be supportive of this, and look for alternative options to keep the Magpies alive. (Bundy Red Cup)

Balmain Bug is a Magpie man, this was a cautionary of post

If or when wt nsw cup side is formed in 2013 then the team will alternate between magpies strip and balmain strip (same strip as what wt nrl team use for heritage games). Unsure of where home ground will be based.

Watto thats a long way to travel to watch your team lose most weeks …....But its true If i lived in realistic travelling distance of Brisbane Wests and we were still in the Qld Cup (Tony Currie will see us back there real soon hopefully) I would go and watch them play at Purtell Park and bash the tripe out of Easts ....... oh and anyone else we played also

I personally see some validity in a single wt nsw cup team. It has been expressed clearly here on forums that a single nsw cup team = end of the magpies but no so much the end of the tigers.. (think of the telegraph articles a few weeks ago) - yet to see an article about the looming end of balmain. The nsw cup needs a complete overhaul and should be aligned with the nrl comp. hopefully the independent commish will fix that eventually.
