GRANT JONES NAMES U20S TEAM TO PLAY STORM
14/06/2011 3:13:31 PM

Wests Tigers U20s Coach Grant Jones has named his side to play Melbourne Storm at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday, June 19.

The U20s match should be a great contest with the Storm sitting in third place on the ladder on 22 points with Wests Tigers back in seventh place on 16 points.

The Storm will play their catch-up Round 14 U20s game against the Roosters tomorrow (Wednesday) and then quickly back up against Wests Tigers.

Wests Tigers head into the match on the back of a 30-16 loss to the Warriors last Sunday. Full-back James Tedesco and half-back Jacob Miller has strong games in a beaten side.

Geez they posted the team early today. Good looking side although a shame to see Shaun Spence out. There's plenty of speed in that backline too. Hopefully the Tigers can bounce back after 2 losses in a row. Melbourne will be tough, I think they're running 2nd or 3rd.

I would assume Grant had to get it in early due to transit times for the team today

Also interesting to note that the Storm play a catchup game against the Roosters tomorrow, so it will be a short turnaround for them.

one of the stronger teams they've fielded this year

some real excitement machines in the backs this year, mot still have a few years left in the 20s too

Along with Matt McGahan being the son of Kiwi and Roosters great Hugh there is Kris Freeman son of Gary the current Foxsports commentator and another former Kiwi great as well as being a Grand Finalist with Balmain, a Gold Dally M at the Roosters after being punted by the Parrot, he also had stints with Penrith and Parramatta.
Alongside these 2 is the son of former Balmain lower grader Rod Sironen in Damian Sironen who is also the nephew of Balmain legend Paul 'Buttocks' Sironen or as I was reminded by Citizen Tiger on the BSB the other morning Ian from 'Club Buggery'.
Would have been nice to have seen the last 2 come through the Balmain/Wests Tigers system.

It Was 6-4 with 15 minutes to play , and then like last weeks NRL team the young under 20s put on 4 classic tries …2 by the fullback , Tedesco and 2 by the centre ( 3) ....the last one was a pearler Little side chip by Miller on the 40 metre line to limoni and a beautiful dummy and Miller converts again.
Half time on a picture perfect winters day 30-4

Back live , and after 4 minutes , James Tedesco runs a lovely line and is in again , and dead eye , Miller converts again
36-4

This fullback is on fire and he us again for his 4th try of the day.
Miller of course converts and after 10minutes into the 2nd half
42-6…..and Melbourne are coming 2nd or 3rd in the comp...this is awesome stuff by our young team
