Exciting young full-back Jake Mullaney has been named the Wests Tigers Toyota Cup Player of the Year for 2009.

Mullaney had a memorable debut season in the U20s competition, scoring 322 points to be the Toyota Cup’s leading pointscorer.
>
The 19-year-old scored 29 tries in 27 matches and kicked 103 goals. Amazingly, 21 of his tries came in the last 10 matches, including a double in the grand final.
>
Mullaney played his junior footy with Eagle Vale-St Andrews, the same club as former premiership winning full-back Brett Hodgson. Mullaney is still available for the Wests Tigers Toyota Cup team in 2010.
>
He received his award from Wests Tigers Toyota Cup coach Grant Jones at a private function for players and their families at Wests Ashfield on Wednesday, October 7.. The awards could not be presented at the Wests Tigers Grand Final luncheon last Friday as the team was preparing for the U20s Grand Final.
>
Strength and Conditioning Coach Sean Burns presented centre Joel Wisbey with the Wests Tigers Toyota Cup Rookie of the Year award. A tall, powerful running centre and strong defender, Wisbey scored six tries in 25 matches this season.
>
A product of the Camden Rams Junior Rugby League Club, Wisbey was eligible to play SG Ball for Wests Magpies in 2009\. He has two more seasons in the Toyota Cup for Wests Tigers.
>
Talented and hard working second-rower Simon Dwyer received the Players’ Player award from Wests Tigers Toyota Cup Football Manager Darren Mooney. Dwyer had an outstanding season which saw him make his NRL debut against the Melbourne Storm in Rd 15.
>
Dwyer scored 11 tries in 25 matches and has been awarded a full-time contract with the Wests Tigers for 2010\. Dwyer is a product of the Ingleburn Bulldogs JRL club.

Yes well done…..well deserved Mullany, Dwyer. Wisbey and Woods......

but....how A Fafita doesn't get something.......

Oh Sauvou....rookie for mine......

Congrats to the players named on their awards. Scary to think Wisbey has another 2 season left in the Toyota Cup. This kid could develop into something special, has the makings of becoming a very good backrower once he starts to fill out a bit and his strength improves.

A little bit surprised Fafita and Lui didn't win anything, but such is the talent in the Tigers side.
