Wests Tigers Private Ownership is that the Answer?

With the Holman Barnes Group on the nose with many of the old Balmain and current Wests Tigers supporters, is now the time for serious talks to take place between the NRL, HBG and all WT stakeholders regarding possible Private Ownership?
If HBG were to consider offering up the Wests Tigers NRL Licence to a Private Owner it could be a win/win for them and supporters, with a current estimated value being thrown around at between
A$70-$90 million?
If the right owner with a long-term commitment and sufficient financial resources took over, the Wests Tigers could become one of the biggest success stories in the NRL. They have a huge supporter base, a rich nursery in Sydney West and South West and a well-known brand. With stable leadership and sustained investment, they have the potential to become a consistent finals contender and eventually a premiership- winning club again.
A proviso (IMO) would be that serious WT fans could purchase shares so that they would have some influence over the club's governance.
Surely current WT supporters would not have any concern over the culture being weakened as it is currently rotten to the core?

you don't need to sell shares to fans - you can simply allow members voting rights to elect the board.
 
If they are ambitious, care about success, and will invest adequately in the football programs it’s absolutely better than what we have now

Your opening sentence is wrong because it is not just old Balmain or new Wests Tigers supporters that believe HBG are on the nose every ex Magpie supporter i have spoken to over the years believes the same thing.

And just think, they get to watch the Western Suburbs Magpies play at their home ground at Lidcombe about every two weeks and that keeps them totally happy.

Absolutely 100% correct! If HBG dig their heels in and are not willing to sit down with the NRL,l then end of discussion.
Clubs with full Private Ownership are:
Broncos, Sea Eagles, NZ Warriors, South Sydney Rabbits,
Joint-venture and Consortia Model:
Gold Coast Titans, Melbourne Storm, St George- Illawarra Dragons.
Is Private Ownership a given for success NO! But the club under the licence-ship of HBG has been messy and desperate times require desperate actions. But yes if HBG stand firm on their resistance then the NRL may have e to bring them to the table for serious discussions. Mr V'Landy seems to exercise a lot of sway with all things NRL.

I am an old Wests Magpies supporter and I am not impressed with HBG so I apologise leaving out Maggie fans.
 
Instead of selling, they could hire a team of expensive consultants, listen carefully to their findings, then immediately sack the current management when the final report recommends an independent board and a new CEO.

They could implement the recommendations, declare it a bold new direction, look like geniuses and, most importantly, ensure any future blame is professionally outsourced.

From there, they could appoint a CEO who has won multiple competitions and has a proven record of turning bottom-ranked teams into contenders. Someone who might even, just maybe, stop the club from manufacturing a fresh crisis every second Tuesday.

He could call the clean-out a “crocodile roll”, removing the dead wood, resetting the culture and hopefully leaving fewer people around to leak the next boardroom argument to the media.

Or we could scrap that idea and continue contending for wooden spoons, because apparently having a predominantly black home jersey and a NSW Cup team playing out of Lidcombe Oval is the real definition of success.
