No Wests Tigers player will don the No.7 jersey this weekend following the passing of legendary halfback Tommy Raudonikis, the club has announced.
"Wests Tigers will honour the late Tommy Raudonikis by retiring the number seven jersey across all four grades this Sunday at Leichhardt Oval," a club statement read.
"Wests Tigers NRL, Knock-On Effect NSW Cup, Jersey Flegg and Harvey Norman NSW Women's Premiership sides will all take to the field this Sunday in a quadruple-header at Leichhardt Oval, with the respective halfbacks of each side to wear a different playing number on the day."
The halfback on each squad will be responsible for leading their team out onto the field, with the No.7 jersey from each grade to be placed on the first chair of the club's bench.
The club said this method of paying tribute to Raudonikis would also be employed by their other representative and associated teams across the weekend.
The NRL side will wear a specially-embroidered version of the club's 2021 home jersey for the game, which will pay tribute to the Western Suburbs icon.
The club will further honour Raudonikis in the club's next game at Campbelltown Stadium against the Gold Coast Titans in Round Nine, which will be celebrated by the club as a "Tommy Raudonikis Memorial Round".
