here is the logic. it revolves around Marshall's possible injury!

if marshall gets re-injured then:
Lui to 6\. - Natural position
Moltzen to 7\. - Where we think he belongs anyway
Tuqiri to 1\. - i think he will be ok under the highball and watch out for his first kick return
Fitzhenry to 2 - He will slot straight into the wingers role.

I think that sheens has covered most of the "un-forseen" circumstance scenarios with the side he has chosen.

Hmmm im not totally sold on the lineup.

I was happy in a way that J-Mo left… But now Fitzy is there and I would certainly take J-Mo over Fitzy.

I still wouldve preferred:

Happy with the first 13\. it's a strong line up. I don't know why people keep bagging fulton. you only have to go back and look at the stats to realise he was always one or our top tacklers. hopefully he's bulked up a little bit. he's always had a pretty good football brain, now with a little maturity, he may reach his potential.

A little surprised at two little men on the bench. Does this mean they do not expect Lote to last the match and have Fitzy ready to slot onto the wing and use Flanagan as a utility? Or is there still some concern over Marshall's ankle?

If we can control the football, Manly don't stand a chance.

I would actually imagine Flanagan is there to give Rhino a breather during the game. Ellis and Fulton are two genuine 80 minute players, Rhino will do it but is a far less effective player in doing so

Congratulations to Mark Flanagan and Junior Moors. Both players must have delivered the goods in an outstanding off season.

Its a good starting 13 but our extreme lack of depth is exposed badly by the bench. Their bench is better than our by miles. Actually most other teams have a better bench than us.

AND WHAT IF BENJ DOESNT GET INJURED??? It's a wasted bench spot!!! Mataka or Fifita should be there instead of Fitzy. Lazarus can cover the halves and fullback better than Fitzhenry so Lazarus would be better on the bench than Fitz.

Not too long ago you selected a bloke at fullback who is currently injured…Do you really think that because we may name a different team to Sheens that our side is better? Our opinions count for squat, we're not at training putting the players through their paces and watching who is performing well and who isn't, who has a good attitude and who doesn't. Sheens is the coach and he selects the best side which he thinks will get the job done against whatever side the Tigers come up against.

I'd probably have Fifita and/or Mataka there. I am not saying Moors and Flanagan deserve their spots I am just congratulating them. As for you assesment i dont agree with it

Rose > Cayless by Miles. Hopefully Cayless can make ground in form and fitness in his comeback to topline footy.
I cant compare Shane Rodney with Flanagan as Flanagan has only played 10 games of first grade in Superleague and that is it.
So if a comparisson was made I would have to say Rodney > Flanagan.
Kite > Moors
and Seu Seu would just edge out Fitzy in my opinion.

Don't mind the rest of the team I think fitzy on the bench is a waste of a bench spot specially against a big side like manly..

people of this forum understand what a massive dissapointment it must have been for the fringe firstgraders to see fitzy named in first grade ahead of themselves, being told by sheens to go back to state cup or 20"s cause your not wanted this week.put yourself in their position . not good for the up and comers. :blush: my advice ,speek to your manager and see whats out there..

We don't really know what goes on at training each and every day.
If a player had a poor attitude at training I know I wouldn't pick them.

Yeah I can understand that. But it's only round one. I will have more to say on it if it keeps happening though.
