Great game today from Michael Chee Kam. He came on as a replacement for Manly in the middle of the second half tackled well and good in attack including being instrumental in the winning Manly try. I don't know whether he was playing second row or centre but I do know Wests Tigers have a good one for 2016.

I really like the signing, if this is Jason Taylors direction im all aboard.

About bloody time TITG…..sick of you missing the boat ....hahaha.

NO no no no no True Tiger

Do not get me wrong, i think he has been absolutely awful this year and pretty much out of his depth.

But everyone has a redeeming feature, his may well be recruitment. But then again he is the one selecting Buchanana and Lovett every week so there is room for the possibility he just got lucky with Chee Kam

There's also the possibility he only has Buchanan and Lovett to choose from…..not much in the depth department mate...

Lodge must be on the outer big time,we could use him...and I did notice how great TMMartin played yesterday..and how soft Brooks played....just a thought...

And...yes yes yes ,,we may be heading in the right direction, recruitment wise....

Hey Newtown,we seen at the game yesterday…...we need all the Chee Kams we can get..
And better bloody refs.... 😱pen_mouth:

You're right TT. We got to lead 16-6 midway in the second half but looked like we were running backwards ever since.

.

There is also a possibility you are wrong and the coach might make the odd mistake.

Yes that is quite possible everyone makes mistakes….some more often than others...I will judge JT after pre season and the first half a dozen games in 2016...

I just hope we can stop the rot with our habit of turning good players average

This crap never seems to stop.

Like whom?????

Come on Col, you know very well which players I mean

For me, the biggest cop out is Adam Blair. Great at Melbourne, horrendous here, then back to back MotM performances at Brisbane…. Sure there are many more examples, but he's the pick of the litter my me.

Innsaneink, I really do not know who you mean. Kevin was a reserve grader and seems to have cemented a first grade spot. Teddy and Simona were first graders and remain so. Sue and Ava have improved this year as has Tapau. I do not know if this has anything to do with Taylor or just experience. Moses is improving, but Brooks is going backwards. Lovett is a good reserve grade player and remains so. Dean is playing very well and Lawrence is ( in my opinion ) going to be a very, very good forward. Sironen is marking time and Big Red is leaving.

A backline of ( maybe ) Teddy, Nofo, Simona, Chee-Kam, Kevin and Moses would be handy. We need another couple of forwards and a clever halfback with a good kicking game and we should be very competitive. Farah is a worry at the moment but Cherrington is improving.

We have some good young players in NYC namely, Woods, Marshall-King and the young hooker whose name escapes at the moment. I noticed a young forward who played the other day whose name is Marsters. He looks to have plenty of potential.

So, with a center or two plus a couple of strong forwards who can not only make meters but can offload, we should go ok next year.

All a bit long winded I know, but the only one who has gone backwards, in my opinion, is Brooks. But he is only young and maybe can turn things around. Cheers.

Aside from Blair i cant think of too mang good players who went backwards here. We rarely sign anyone with a good rep to start with.

I reckon I could give you a list of at least 50+ players who played Union before switching to League at a junior level

Out of those 50+ players, how many played Super XV or test rugby before switching to the NRL and who were they?

They don't often come this way any more after they have made it cause it is a pay cut to try a foreign game.

Blokes like Giteau or George Smith would have been s sensation at league, not to mention just about every all black of the last decade .

The thinking that rugby guys aren't as good as league guys is just wrong.

Tim Horan would of killed it in league Goose

almost certainly!

I would have liked to see how Jonah Lomu, from the all blacks, went in rugby league.

As for the new signings for wests-tigers, welcome aboard, and make the most of your opportunity.

Lomu would have killed it..as would have Ma Nonu. Love to see Nonu play league after the WC

Nonu had agreed terms with the weststigers, and something happened and he stayed in union, Sheens would know the exact reason as would others at the time, the one who got away I am afraid.

Would have loved Nonu at the WTs. Nonu at the backend of his career will still earn more in French a Rugby then he could in the NRl.
Chee Kam looks a strong and powerful runner. Hope he kills it for the WTs next year. With limited money for next year, the WT recruiters have been doing a good job IMO. Still like to see an experienced second rower in our squad.

I thought there was a policy that we weren't signing players until 2017?
Or was it that we are just not allowed to sign any established first graders ?
Geez. Save the money for a marquee thanks

From the SMH, "Tigers officials view him as a wide-running back-rower and say at the age of 26 Parahi wants to return to the code he first began playing as a Canterbury Bulldogs junior while still a chance of playing at NRL level."

Not a Rugby convert speculator by the looks with League experience already
