I'd like to know what has happened to Kepaoa's left leg, he's got a tremendous amount of strapping on it at the moment. Depending what the problem is I'm not sure I'd be risking him for round 1.

Yikes that doesn't sound too good.

Isn't rain predicted also?
Hopefully this doesn't affect our game plan too much though.
It's why I don't really care to comment too much on other games...as we may now be playing wet weather footy - which I think we've always been historically poor with.

Rain is predicted all morning but expected to clear by kick off. Game time temperature will be 14 degrees... Based on how fit we look I would have loved a Saturday home game in today’s 30 degree heat vs the Raiders. Not to worry, it just makes it a tougher challenge for the boys. Hope they’re up to it.

It’s bucketing down now so hopefully it stops well before 4pm.

The radar seems to suggest the rain will pass soon, hopefully will be enough time for the field to drain but sure to still be slippery (I'm here for both grades so here's hoping).

The weather in Canberra can't be worse than quite a few years when Wayne Pearce captained Balmain tigers in a match at Canberra. It was bitterly cold, heavy snow blocking vision throughout the match.

So I was thinking maybe madge has taken talau so if liddle gets tired mbye can shift too hooked laurie to 5/8 kepoa too fullback and talau to the wing . Kepoa did a lot of fullback training in the preseason from what has been said so I wonder if that's more the thought rather then talau into 5/8?

Why not keep it simple, Mbye to hooker and Talau to 5/8.....

We can only trust the coach with his 1st round selections at least this year we have better depth if players don't perform.

Really missing 3 players that could of earned selection in AD & Musgrove, Blore at a later date, again depth.

Pundits have us a loss by 10 points so took the +9.5 start and betting against them. Win would be ideal but overall team performance rather than lots of dropped ball like some teams this weekend will give us WT fans what to expect in 2021.

Looking forward to the game can't come soon enough.

Its March so it wont be as bad as it could be in June/July.Having said that it is not a good place to be at any time of the year(weather wise) although the vineyards are good

**WT to wear black arm bands in remembrance of two supporters of Wests Tigers and its foundation clubs.**

John Brennan OAM was a veteran broadcaster and life-long friend of Keith Barnes and many other Balmain identities synonymous with the Tigers' rich history.

'Brenno', as he was affectionally known, hosted the early television mid-week rugby league cups before progressing through to be an leading broadcast industry producer and mentor for names such as Rod Muir and Alan Jones.

Brennan passed away earlier this week aged 89.

Gary Johnston was also an iconic supporter of the club, with strong connections to Western Suburbs Magpies throughout his time as a sponsor.

Having started his own company Jaycar in the 1980's, Johnston's support of rugby league extended to sponsorship of the Canterbury Bulldogs while he also continued to assist the Magpies and then Wests Tigers at many functions and events.

Besides his business and rugby league interests, Gary was also the pioneer of the immensely successful charity motor vehicle "Big Bash" rallies across Australia.

Johnston passed away earlier this week aged 71.

The thoughts of all at Wests Tigers are with John and Gary's friends and family at this time.

I'm sure it will be right by the time the Maggies run on, sounds like you've come too far to miss it!!

Yeh I think they will I was just suggesting something different. So many people go on about talau playing 5/8 and stuff so was just another option that's all.

Yep - It was NRL round 17, May 28, 2000. The first year of the merged Wests Tigers team

Didn't realise how good of shape Ofahengaue is. Looks way leaner than last year

Been excited for a while now but my main hope for today is that we turn up and don't get flogged like Manly or NQ.. Just want a team that is disciplined and doesn't give up stupid plays..

Looking forward to watching Laurie. Liddle with a full pre-season under his belt, and Brooks 5th attempt of being a brand new player.

Nah, I want to flog them, just like what happened to Manly & NQ.

No pressure.

I'd like to see Laurie play 6 today, Mybe at 1 and Tommy at 14.

It's going to be a wet weather footy game which will suit a smaller, faster half like Daine who can capitalise on mistakes and gassed forwards.

Mybe is generally safe at fullback but he hasn't proved to be creative enough to scheme around the ruck.

I'm confident that Liddle can play the 80 - if he doesn't Talau slots into 1 and Mybe goes to 9.
