Can't win an NRL game with Mbye in the centres.

Have we ever won with him in the centres?


I'd rather see Packer play there.


We only won 7 games last year, 5 of those (Rds 3, 6, 7, 10, 14) Mbye was in the centres, he scored tries in three of those five.........but otherwise a pretty convincing point of view.

Pretty primary school way to judge a performance......He scored a try.

I gamble for a living and have an extensive data base.
His ratings in all those games in all facets of the game were inadequate for an NRL player.

His maximum possible performance this weekend based on all his games over the past 2 seasons is a 5/10.

But what about the variable of his injury last year ? That totally undermines anything your saying .

Some people unfortunately abuse certain features on the forum, and the moderators will ensure that doesn't continue to occur. Hardening up has nothing to do with it.

Oh well. Another Tommy commemoration game down the toilet,

Gold Coast will target the weak link known as Mbye.

Game over before it starts.

Mbye is a good defender mate . If anything we just got better defensively , and sacrifice our attack. Put him next to Cini , and AD , and that’s a stronger defensive structure there .

Brooks covering for Joey with Garner on the inside , and Luci next to AD , Mbye covering for Cini.
I actually like it .
If it works , it might be hard for Roberts and and TalU to get a run in a few weeks

Unfortunately for the team it isn't true.

He was consistently one of the worst defenders all last year. ***Statistically*** he was a horror show. His "good defence" is a forum myth.

Mbye was one of our best backline defenders last year.

Sorry, but saying that doesn't make it true.
If only it did for the team's sake.
They'll need a traffic cop to control the flow of players exploiting his weaknesses.

I can only pray that it's a clever ruse by Madge to mess with their heads before he's benched when the final team is named.

Defensively he’s far better than Talau, Leilua and Nofo.

Mbye goes alright .. Nofo is the worst of that list .

Nofo is one of the worst defenders I’ve ever seen.

He is the modern day Brooks, no confidence and no faith in his players inside or outside.

Noffo will be a better overall player if he trusts the systems and players around him.

Wouldn't have too many players on his outside, being on the wing 🙂

Lead to a try because he was out of position.

He was in there (too far though) to cut off the kick, but as soon as it was passed he should have pushed back across. He didnt start to run until it hit the centre.

That's a good tackle stat. Imagine how much confidence that gives your team, knowing your centre is gonna make his tackle 9 out of 10 times. That stuff inspires your team. It also makes it had for the halves to play, as a half will be not so keen to waste tackles going that way cause he knows he can't get through.

I feel that having Liddle on the bench will make Simpkin play better. He hasn't been playing how he does in NSW Cup as he seems to be pacing himself so he can get through 80.

what i struggle with is the knock on seyfarth. That dude has a motor and is in everything. He is always back chasing he is always in the play. Yes i agree there are better ball runners but i doubt any other forward he has does the distance and 1% he does.

Correct, but the WT have too many forwards of the same type as Seyfarth - Twal, Tamou, Ophenague
The consequence is, low run meters, so majority of our attacking kicks are from 40-50 m instead of 20-30m.

Well I've come to realise you can't point out Liddles defensive issue without getting a down vote so I guess pointing out any stats against players that struggles means a down vote is just a given lol
