In all honesty, I just don't get the idea of having 2 hookers in your starting 17 .. why .. ?? **Every other team has a number 9 who goes the 80 minutes.** Yes I understand that Liddle is just returning from injury, but when we had MM starting why were we having PG on the bench. Are our two hookers in MM and PG really that bad that they cant 80 mins .. ?? We currently have a hooker, a utility, and 2 forwards on the bench. I'd rather that we'd be having 3 forward and a utility player on the bench.

Every other team…??? ..I'm not so sure..a quick scan of the team lists quite a few have 2 hookers... Sharkies Brayley/Seggy Rorters Friend/Radley Raiders Havlii/Hingano Warriors Luke/Tavaga Titans Peats/Rein even Melbourne have Smith/Smith..

I would say only the Dragons and Broncos have an genuine 80 min hooker even then Broncos have used Thaiday there this year..the rest may not have 2 genuine hookers but the utility as you call them mostly come on to give the starting hooker a rest

Knights often use 2
And the cowboys have a Martin/Granville combo a couple of time this year.
The reasoning is it is the most vital aspect of the game.
Getting quick clean ball or sniff out fatigued opponents in the back end of a game.
If you have hooker whose played 65 minutes in a grind, his options and reaction time won’t be that of someone whose only played 20 minutes.
When Godinet came back on he put Eiso through the gap.
And threw the big pass out to benj on thommos last try.
It’s working so I’m happy to have a rotation in the hookers.

Ill only add that the hooker workrate is pretty high. They are often doing as many tackles as the props/2nd row, but getting involved in as many runs and plays. IMHO it would be great if MCK could fit into the second row or prop as well as hooker as that would make the bench better.

If Liddle continues the way he's going I think we'll see Godinet back to ISP and the original plan of Reynolds and/or Benji coming off the bench to slot in at DH while Liddle has a break. ET will come back into the side pushing Huth to the bench so the question will then be who loses the bench spot between Aloiai and MCK?
Imagine that…. here we are now trying to fit players into our NRL team rather than in previous seasons wondering who the hell is going to be able to play at NRL standard!!

That would be the way to go. Can't keep Godinet there. He's not a first grader.

Another example in the above pictures of what Packer has brought to the club. You see the players all in a huddle looking at Packer. :master:

Packer from the outside looking in seems to be loving the leadership role he's been given.

Didn't Ivan watch ISP last week to see Nofoaluma's poor display…

I watched the game. Nofo and Fonua were both great. There must be a lot of pressure on our wingers to perform.

Will be at work for this game so will be listening.. Will either be cheering or cursing plenty… Hopefully it's cheering

I was one of Packer’s biggest supporters over the summer, but even I didn’t consider him captain material. If any of the new signings were to be captain my vote was with Reynolds. And he still may prove to be that when he comes back, but so far, Packer is heads and shoulders above anyone else, and if Cleary decides to settle on one man for the job going forward, he has to be the man. Great redemption story. He should be proud about the man he has become.

I think that the Storm will be doing everything they can to win today….

1\. Bellamy;s 400th game...

2.They definitely don't want back to back losses against us..

3\. They wont want to fall further down the ladder..

Our team can out grind and outplay them as we have seen previously,it wont be a walk in the park, but the team is playing very well atm and hopefully wont put in a last 20 like they did against Parra..
I think we can come home with the 2 pts....

Given Nofa is playing ISP again this week I suspect Ivan was watching it.

Yeah found that out last night..I don't understand the point of a 19 man squad ..if god forbid a back goes down in the warm up we are left with blokes playing out of position..at least take Gamble if not Nofoaluma as cover..

Makes no sense to me…Sue travelled so forwards are somewhat covered..
