Wests Tigers Head Coach Michael Maguire has named his 21-man squad to take on the Newcastle Knights for their Round 2 clash this Sunday at Leichhardt Oval (4:00pm AEDT kickoff).

After a first-start win over the Dragons in Round 1, Maguire has named a near identical side for this week's game with Josh Reynolds to partner Benji Marshall in the halves following Luke Brooks' calf injury.

Corey Thompson retains his spot at fullback with Adam Doueihi and Joey Leilua in the centres, while co-captain Moses Mbye has not been named in the 21-man squad as he closes in on a return from a knee injury sustained in the trials.

The only change to the side as a whole is the inclusion of Paul Momirovski in jersey 15 on the bench as he returns from a knee injury suffered in the NRL Perth Nines. Momirovski featured as 18th Man last week but takes the place of Michael Chee Kam on the bench this week, with the Samoan international dropping back to the reserves alongside Oliver Clark, Matt Eisenhuth and Tommy Talau.

no geo i did say i got nofo wrong he had a blinder defensively wasnt tested but can take the punt until he has a few howler of a game in defence.
Thommo is the one that should be dropped from fullback

Neither do I. I'd rather keep MCK there for genuine utility value.

My idea as of why Momirovski is on the bench is - Madge is happy using three forwards on the bench, both our second rowers can play 80 minutes so running MCK on the bench is somewhat useless. Momirovski provides cover for our backline if there’s an injury anywhere in our back line without disrupting the team too much

If Momirovski is fit to play I don’t see why we are keeping Doueihi at centre. If he’s going to be a long term fullback I don’t understand why you wouldn’t put him in there now.

I don't get how you'd have Jennings in the team over Momo though. Maybe Jennings is due to have a blinder? Maybe the Momo Grant swap is still on, and he doesn't want to risk playing him unless he has to.

And Thompson, well, Madge I think likes to give players a chance to redeem themselves, or maybe he's just really stubborn.
