Wests Tigers Team v Penrith Rd 16

I wish Maguire would just select the youngest, most inexperienced team possible, name players from other teams in the league too and then if some of them aren't performing he should drop them at halftime (even earlier if the rules allow it) and continue to do this until he finds a player that does better.

And then I expect him to name those players next week but also to drop him if he doesn't perform and once we've trialled the majority of the league's players we should have a good team but not one that's too good because after all, the 'diehards' need a team they like but also need something to complain about.

I'd also like to see Brooks and Marshall dropped to be replaced just by Jock Madden who will play 6 AND 7. Obviously Asu K is the long-term answer in the backline so I expect us to trade BJ, Mbye, Brooks, Reynolds and Packer next week because it's very easy to get rid of underperforming players, everyone knows this.

This is all I want and expect as a football fan.

I really don't get it. I think the accountability spiel has worn itself out. Benji in the team after so many poor displays and as captain is really taking the mickey. I know he's not alone, but if he's there and not accountable why should the others be accountable?

Nice to see Blore back, Aloiai Twal, Mikalele best fit middles we got.
Big concerns on Eiso and ET coming on, no impact at all

Expect changes?

It's a balance as to whether we will need good strong defence. If as we do need it as it certainly looks that we will than Elso and ET are there to provide it.

Reynolds/Benji / Brooks - you could take a poll and get an even result about who considers which one is worse than the other. They are the best we have got and they have all been dropped not sure what other better option is available that doesn't also come with risk.

Exactly, and we're probably better off sticking with what we've had to build some sort of consistency. I don't really see any other credible options.

Zero accountability at all. What a bloody joke.

Packer got dropped. Benji shouldn’t be there, so there’s *some* accountability, not zero ?

Brief piece on channel 9 now saying Benji can take as much time as he likes to make his mind up on whether he'll play next year. That right there is part of the problem with this club...

It’s the Teddy/Paps all over again how can the club engage a quality 1/2 when the old man will not make a decision .. the club and the people running it are a joke and the fans / members are treated like crap ! Just roll up next season so we can plunder your account for memberships $$$ .

The club should make the decision for him, a gentle tap on the shoulder.

The problem is our board/club are stupid enough to make a political decision to keep him.

Getting a bit worried that 851 hasn’t commented. Hope he hasn’t used that rope from Bunnings.

Kidnapping a player or coach, hey? Do you think that would work?

Has anyone seen the cleary’s?

I think people forget that the players and coach are accountable every week especially more so when they are picked to play. We have players on the side line who have been paid every week for not playing - where is the accountability for McQueen? - he has played about 15 minutes of footy but has s nice chunk of our cap tied up in that.
If Benji is exposed again this week it will be far more damaging for him than Reynolds who gets paid a fortune to sit on the sideline. There is always accountability for coach via his selections, and players when they play. The focus on Benji is a bit over the top when he is only a small part of a much bigger problem - that possibly will contribute squat again this week again.

It's the strongest side on paper we have put out for over a month..go back 2 months bar the usual one or two it would be accepted..

Now it's Madge is being told who to pick ....can not see him being that type..

If that is even remotely true ..time for a new Coach...

pack and bench looks strong. Reynolds for Benji is the obvious change that needs to happen, but apart from that it's about as probably as good a side as we could've named. Grant/Liddle hooker rotation will be good to watch providing we're still in the game by the time Liddle gets on.

Wonder if they are continually playing Mbye in the hopes another club will see something in him?

Here's hoping for a miracle and a massive turn around.

Benji - if you continue to pick me I will retire at end of the season

Maguire - Sounds like a deal, but you need to tell Packer he is not wanted and tell Reynolds needs to update his overseas working visa

Benji - Deal

Forum Members - what about fricken Accountability

Daily Telecrap - They still love Marshall and he will resign for another 5 years.

he's a good player but is clearly out of form and can't string together decent performances at the moment. if he could nail down a position in the spine then who knows but whether or not he has it in him remains to be seen. I still think he's best position is 6, would like to see him be given a crack there at some point considering the season's done.

I think the simple truth is madden isn't ready, we want jr gone best way to do that is not play him. We want packer gone so drop him to park football and hope they get the hint.
Leaves us with benji in the halves which like most people means we need to score an extra try or 2 every week

9.Grant
14.Liddle

i see that and i lose all faith in the club
so madge u mean to tell everyone Liddle is not even close to being good enough to start over Grant when Grant is leaving next year ???????

I suppose with Madden you can't rush him into NRL too early or you end up like Matt Groat and Ben Murdoch-Marseilla. Exposed too soon. No junior football has not helped.

I thought Musgrove was back this week.
