Very silly from Mahe but I am not surprised. A line was drawn in the sand when Cleary took over and would look soft after the Suli incident.

I agree with it even if it weakens our team.

I expected more from a player that has been trying to get into first grade and then is given his chance.

Hopefully Mahe handles it like a grown up.

Doubt it…he looks like a **sulker....**

What do they look like?

Im sure dozens of players turn up late to training thanks to Sydney traffic. That's a given. If its out of yours hands, that's one thing. If you are too lazy to get out of bed, that's another.

was he too lazy to get out of bed or did he just sleep in ??
if he just slept in this is harsh not only to him but to the tigers fans who want to win
he was the difference vs the cowboys and why doesnt nofolouma get punished for not improving he still cant defend and reward him every week i dont get it

Leave the fans out of it, it has nothing to do with us. The club is working very hard to build a new culture, one that demands excellence and turning up to training late is obviously not keeping with the new standards. Disappointing yes, but hopefully it's a mistake Fonua doesn't make again.

You've never slept in and been late for work? It's a human weakness, a mistake, not a criminal offence.

Exactly, it isn’t a criminal offence. He’s only been dropped, big deal. Hopefully it makes him set his alarm a little earlier. Also let it be a lesson to everyone else.

Fair enough, but it weakens the team. We're only just hanging in the top 8, another loss this week will see us out of it. We're playing one of the top sides, we need our best players out there and Fonua was our best by quite a bit last week. I just think it's a knee jerk reaction to a nothing mistake that may end up costing us.

I was at first shocked as I thought Fonua had been dropped for Kev. But upon hearing Fonua was late, fair enough. We can still beat the Panthers, their hooker was out I thought, so that'll help.

To get dropped for being late, he must have had no excuse other than he slept in or something. If his car broke down or the trains were late, you could understand that, and he wouldn't have been dropped. At least he wasn't sleeping in the car near the training.

**He'll be back next week**, he'll be even hungrier, and though we might see an error or two from him, he'll smash them.

Bring on the Pennies.

I'm prepared to say he's no certainty, especially if we win.

If he's not back next week, it means the guys we have in this week played out of their skin, so I'm more than happy with that!

I'm surprised at the amount of people that just don't get it…. This move is much more than just for this game... This is long-term.
Cultures don't change and cultivate over night

The leaders have been part of the decision. They will set up. We win be on our game.
Tacky, image if MCK was late for training.

BEAST would never be late to training

I hate to upset you Tacky, but the BEAST's jersey from last weeks game is the lowest price at auction ATM.

:frowning:

People just don't appreciate good players

This x 1000! Standards need to be set. There need to be consequences for not meeting standards. It’s psychology 101.

x 3

The thing that I am most excited is we have our full strength forward pack back on the paddock , Fonua will be missed no doubt , but this side has got the job done against some top sides this season

Don't write them off , give them the chance to show us what they can do , they won't let us down , win lose or draw

Disappointing as I was hoping to see Mahe just keep running over the top or through Maloney but am happy with the club for sticking with the changing of culture.

As GEO says expect changes….....

Are you taking the Micky out of Geo or are you implying that Ivan is playing mind games or some other circumstance will force his hand?

You seem to be missing the main point, that being, his peers and their five co-captains made this decision.

And if this weekends game was a qualifying final Fonua would be playing !

If the club were deadset serious Fonua wouldn't be playing ISP either this weekend .

5 co-captains LMAO …that's a joke in itself !

What would you prefer? The 5 leaders dejected because a team mate isn’t putting in. That sort of thing has a ripple effect.
If it was such a minor thing, do you think they would have approached the coaching staff.

Cleary would've approached the 5 leaders not the other way round .

if it was Fonua's 3rd time being late it would be understandable …
There's setting standards and setting standards ..
Way OTT IMO !

3rd time? Mate I doubt there will be a 2nd now that he has been dropped after his first.

Got a link to the auction ?

It’s the furthest right icon on the Roarstore page.

People scream the joint down for accountability… & when they get it they scream it's "OTT" and "we can overlook it"

No, we cant

Thanks, part of me wants to see Fonua on the park for this game but I agree with the decision to suspend him.

I blame Super Coach.

People are more worried about their team than the Wests Tigers culture.

Hah!
You may be onto something…. The outrage is a bit overboard... More to it all?
