Anyone know what Stefano did, he might have kicked Madge's cat or something. I thought his form was ok now he's been unsighted for a few weeks.

Musgrove as well?

Musgrove's game against Manly was about as bad as you'd see.

Agree, but he isn’t listed anywhere, he’ll come good?

Not sure, I hope so because we have him for a while. The club isn't great at communicating injuries etc but you'd assume there's something wrong as he's not playing KOE

Need to go all out for Hynes imo - we need a good No. 1

By that I mean a thinking No. 1 that is solid under the high/low ball, can organise the defence line, backs up through the centre and is constantly in the game, a good defender and finally has a good kicking game.

As a bonus can play 5/8, centre and DH.

Now everyone (or so it seems) has Laurie as our locked in 1 for the rest of his life. At this stage he has speed (not used very effectively) and is very good under the high ball. Don't think he has anything else at the moment and I am not convinced he is organising the defence as it should be.

A good 1 is just as valuable if not more so than a half these days and Hynes is better than most coming through in my opinion - so why wouldn't you grab him if you can. Do that and build Laurie's game over the next couple of years - think he is in NRL too early.

I think if you put Laurie in the Storm for a week you'd see a pretty superb player. The issue with Laurie is he's surrounded by idiots.

He's still very very young and Learning the game. That one game against dragons when he and Doueihi combined he was brilliant unfortunately we don't see it enough, especially now with Mbye at 6.

Be great to see it again this weekend

Excited to see Roberts play. I said at the start of the year that in a year that I expected to be bad, at least there's a bit of excitement around what Roberts might do. I feel like he's been really unlucky this year, got into no sort of rhythm with his play or the team and I saw flashes of speed that makes me think he can still be good. Whether he is or not, I think he's better than the average plodder for his speed and energy of his play so I think he adds an extra factor to the upcoming match that will make the game that little bit more exciting (for better or worse). And unlike Leuilua, I think he's really trying his best.

By my count wingers have pretty much cost us 3 games this year

Nof v Cows
Cini v Gold Coast
Talau v Warriors

Will Jet make it 4?

This is a truly awful take to think that wingers are single handedly costing us games

I agree with this being an awful take. I can agree somewhat with cinis game, awful and way too many mistakes! But Talau vs warriors? What game are you watching? Every time they scored in talaus corner he was outnumbered because our edge defence didn’t shift! Do we have that many fans that don’t understand the game?? Watch a reply and see how many players talau is left with to cover! Same for nofa on the try he charged out on! The only thing I can cop on Talau was the one rts beat Joey and it looked like Talau was jogging along, I read someone else say he was marking one of the runners behind rts.. idk but it didn’t look good. Clearly Madge see’s what the issue is and it’s multiple people defending by themselves and not as a unit. Crazy to blame Talau for the loss against the warriors

Talau wasn’t solely responsible for the loss to the Warriors, but his performance was pretty shocking. If you put two decent wingers in we probably win the game.

Disagree I don’t think there’s a player in the competition that can mark 2 players at one time and be successful as many times the warriors caught us on the edges.

Do you think our edges defended well?

I know Madge has not made many changes to initial 17s this year but does anyone think that maybe Kiah Cooper could get a run over TT? Indigenous round too would be a special moment to blood him I’d imagine, especially against an average Dragons team.

Could put him on the wing like he has played a bit in KOE and shift JTJ to centre. Or just a straight swap could also work I’d imagine. Just a little food for thought

Anyone know what Stefano did, he might have kicked Madge's cat or something. I thought his form was ok now he's been unsighted for a few weeks.

Musgrove as well?

Musgrove did his knee (according to WT injury list) out for 6 weeks.

Stefano Utoikamanu & Jake Simpkin drop out of the 21. Michael Chee Kam & Kiah Cooper remain in the 19

Cooper to wing
Roberts to centre
AD to 6
Mbye to bench

That's how it looked to me when the team was named with 4 forwards on the bench and a winger on the extended bench.
