WESTS Tigers Team V Storm...

I really like the look of this side. Full strength. Can't wait to test ourselves against one the comp's benchmark teams.

If we are now dropping wingers because of errors , why is Nofo still in the team ?

Fair point - he's had as many as Rankin and JAC combined (15).

At least you acknowledged the point Nelson.
Unlike the many clueless keyboard coaches here !

But facts are a bit much for most .

QLD just scored their second and I thought of this thread. See the way Cronk suckered in Jennings to open the hole for Gagai, that's what he'd do to JAC all afternoon.

Yep. I'm liking Sue starting at Prop. Hopefully our backs have seen what Cronk did to NSW backs. And hopefully C Smith is still drunk from partying.

Rankin does offer a few advantages over JAC

- Goal Kicking
- Versatility if 1,6 or 7 goes down.

Considering JAC dropped it with the line wide open last week, he has errors in his finishing abilities.

I'm happy with Rankin's selection.

Finally waiting for someone to bring this up.

Farah and Woods both backing up from Origin, only forwards on the bench. If there is a niggle anywhere in the backline, you want Rankin there as cover not JAC.

I'm not really getting this line of thought - if we have an injury in the backs, Lovett will move to the centres and we'll shift around from there. This has happened several times this season already.
If we lose one of the halves we'll put Lawrence there.

We all know what happened in the Melbourne game when Lovett went to centre.
But sure. thats ok.

Just find it hard to argue that rankin at 6,7 or 1 is not superior to moving Lawrence out of the 2nd row to 6,7 or simona at 1.

It's a fair argument, but given past examples I'd suggest it's what JT will do.
Also, if we have to move Rankin to cover the halves, centre, or FB, who'd play on the wing?
My point is that wherever we lose a player, it'll cause issues and an awkward reshuffle. We're not talking about including him as a bench utility, but as a starting winger.

I would only bother to move him to cover fullback or the halves. If Teddy, Moses or Brooks went down I would move Rankin to fullback/5/8, Simona or Kev to wing and Lawrence to centre.

If we lose a centre just stick Lawrence in the centres and Rankin can stay on the wing.

They aren't really awkward reshuffles. They all involve players in positions they have some experience in.

Good side, best we can pick.

Seriously…..the one change is a winger. They deadset grow on trees.

Agree, that is the best side we can pick.
As far as wingers growing on trees….WT must be planting the wrong seeds because we have only had 2 top-notch wingers in 17 seasons.

I agree we have not had many good ones, but I am curious as to who you are referring to, Richards and Koro ?

Fitzyhenry

For me it was Pat Richards and Taniela Tuiaki

Storm will be hard to beat…Smith and Cronk will be on a high after Weds night, but tired hopefully..I can see the selection of Jordan Rankin on the wing,Storm would target JAC all night and I don't think he could handle the intense pressure, particularly after his poor performance against the Bunnies..he is still developing as an NRL player, his omission is warranted in my opinion,I sincerely hope the whole team performans very well, they are improving week to week and it is a credit to the coaching staff....

Tuqiri, Tuiaki, Richards, Koro … thats four without thinking.

Nofo is a good young player with flaws in his game. In a better side those flaws would be less evident and he would go well.

Koro is a long way from what you would class as top notch IMO. He is fast and runs the ball up with gusto but the rest of his game is mud, he lets in as many tries as he scores.
We have had 4 better than average wingers in 17 seasons-hardly a good strike rate.

Smith and Cronk will be a problem as they always are but Munster looks like he might miss the game and their big two might be a bit tired from Origin 2\. Woodsy is in the same boat but he just seems to keep going no matter what plus our recent form has been fairly good. Be tough to get a win at AAMI but I really think we'll be competitive. Goal kicking remains a worry though. We need to find someone reliable for next year

ET and Halatau will share hooker

JJ has flown down and may come into the side instead of MCK

ET and Halatau sharing hooker duties? Oh please god no. No no no no no.
Is JT out of his freaking mind? Such a stupid and arrogant decision.
