Yes, he's a great trainer.

Would you rather a poor trainer?

Your scraping the barrel now mate !

I don’t think so. Everyone would prefer Suli over Kev, but the guy refused to train. Where as a guy like Kev obviously puts in. Why shouldn’t he be rewarded?

Suli's gone mate so you can't bring his name into it

Every player puts in that's not the point !
Kev still can't defend and still throws dumb passes . Just watch last weeks game .
Chee-Kam is a far better player !

And before you say …. Why did Ivan pick him ?
I'd say Kev would be on his last chance or near to it !

If kev keeps getting picked after putting in another poor performance like last week it goes against the whole "earn your spot/reputations mean nothing" quotes that have been thrown around latley

If he does get dropped, it won’t be for MCK.

Why not ?
Ivan really rates MCK !
He can play multiple positions and he also trains well !

He obviously rates Kev too, but that doesn’t mean much on here.

Great to see Aloiai back.

Did Matulino start last week? I thought having him on around the end of first half when Packer had gone off worked really well for us.

I can't remember when our D was as good as last week. Ivan wants to create a winning habit so he simply is sticking to his principles. He does not want to kill the work that the team has done over the preseason: that is critical. Last week's team won, so no change. Let's see if they can raise to the occasion in Melbourne. At this stage all we can do is support Ivan because he is on a mission and what we saw against the Chooks is only the start. People are talking about Melbourne's outside backs: Vunivalu etc but let's not forget the same comments about Lateral, Toufou against Thompson etc. I recall Toufou fending off Thompson once but let's not forget that he also put one past Daniel. And regarding Kevies defence, I think that we should cool down because Ivan is working with a system and in that instance the system broke down and only Ivan will know where it broke down.

I have all trust in Ivan. It is still early to get the full picture of what he is doing. Let's all just sit back and enjoy the ride.

On replay, I thought Mats was exceptional before half time. Especially defending.

No surprises with that squad although hopefully Aloiai gets a run. I thought starting with Packer and Eiso worked well, with Matulino and Twal off the bench. I would prefer to go that way for the balance of experience but nothing seems to bother Eiso and Twal so hopefully we don't lose out with that bench rotation.

Pretty sure Chee-Kam has trained exclusively in the backrow this offseason so I can't see Ivan dropping Kev to make way for him in the centres. Hopefully Taane Milne has a red hot crack in ISP this week.

Our biggest challenge this week will be the mental challenge of being "up" for the Storm.

Even though the same 17 has been picked as last week which I applaud Ivan for as he is rewarding the players, I can't help but think you may just see a last minute change
Ivan won't want the Storm team to be able to prepare all week against us
He will make a change I am sure
Craig Bellamy will be looking at our chinks
They have already seen how we play with the 17 named
Making a change to our line-up will alter the way the Storm will attack and defend us
Eg: if Gamble was to play Hooker he would hold his own against the big Storm forwards
I don't think Godinet will be able to stop them
If there is no Kev then they can't target him
I would also like to see Aloiai on the bench but that means Kev out of the line up and MCK into the centers
To me that looks stronger but Ivan is the Man

No shocks here. Good to see Aloiai back, he'll probably make the 17

Tim Grant and Josh Aloiai were not named in the ISP team (Nofo and Gamble were named) so does that mean that they will be playing in 1st Grade on Saturday?

Not necessarily..you can play ISP if you are not named in the side on a Tuesday …not the same rules as NRL..

Or they simply can be the 2 traveling reserves..What you can't do is play NRL if not named in the initial 21 cut to 19 24hrs before kick off..
