On a lighter note I just heard Paul Fletcher give one of the greatest sprays to a team in the dressing room. It was Olympic class.. Wow what a pearler

Dave Harris, Inno, Farlow & Hitchcox can hold their heads high. Nobody else though.

Hitchy re-injured his bad ankle the week before the finals again.

The NYC guys from last year are mentally weak tbh

It's a pretty poor season or not?, this time last year this team as Balmain just scraped into the finals and went all the way to the Grand Final, I feel that they will have a fair shot against the Vulcans but then again!.

In 700 words "F" was used 675 times. Agree with the earlier comment about last years NYC graduates. Fine was quiet and Paasi runs with arms and elbows flying everywhere at 1000km/hr but goes nowhere. Inno tried his butt off, and Akoula ran strong, but they won't threaten the stronger sides.

Hopefully with the additions of Spence & Ava and Groat coming back this week we have a better pack next week.

Masada was rested as was Paea. With Luani's injury we will be relying on Iosefa which is a concern.

Luff is a good foil to use off the bench though

Totally agree with the 4 players mentioned, Inno especially with his runs was able to break the line at will and solid defence. Fallow was tireless as usual and was good to see Harris put his hand up for a spot with a good performance. Jy really tries to get us on the front foot with his kick returns but a lot of arm grabbing tackles and some silly penalties in the 2nd half really gave Mounties momentum and possion that we couldn't halt.

Spence is overated, his inclusion adds little to our forward pack, for a 1st grader he struggles to make meters getting tackled on impact and dominated by much smaller guys.. Ava will be a boost!

Mounties finished their VB NSW Cup season with a win over the West Tigers at Aubrey Keech Reserve on Saturday in what will be remembered as a season of missed opportunities.

With four Canberra Raiders NYC players on debut, it was going to be a tough task for the home team however Eli Roberts proved his talent in the eighth minute when he scored a scintillating try for Mounties to lead 6-0 after Jordan Ropana slotted the conversion.

From the ensuing kick-off Mounties dropped the ball which allowed the Tigers to score and make it 6-6 and from there the game transcended into an arm wrestle until the final five minutes of the half when the Tigers poured on three converted tries to lead 24-6 at the break.

Mounties faced an uphill battle in the second half and scored quickly after half time to make it 24-12 before a backline raid in the 50th minute saw Matt Allwood cross out wide to reduce the deficit to 24-16 and give the home team a sniff.

Mounties were in minutes later when Jordan Ropana crossed for an unconverted try after nice lead up work from Ryan Carr, and Reece Goldsmith regained the lead for Mounties soon after with a converted try to lead 26-24.

Wests Tigers crossed in the 67th minute to take back the lead 30-26, however it was Mounties day and with only minutes remaining Shane Shackleton charged through several defenders before a chip and chase saw him regather and crash over the line with the Tigers defence desperately trying to stop him from scoring the winning try for a 32-30 Mounties victory.

While the season is now over for Mounties, the Wests Tigers head to Remondis Stadium on Saturday to face the Auckland Vulcans at midday in an elimination final.
