Wests Tigers vs Souths *LIVE GAME THREAD

Buchanan and Santi should get rotated out for Liolevave and Lodge or Funaki next week. Those two easy errors are enough if you're really looking to put the screws in.

Agree 100%

Brooks still living on his debut hype.

Only game on my IQ is his debut and it still is the best debut I've seen in 40 years.

Some poor execution today but that's par for the course.I am happy to stick with the kid are you ?

Of course. Just saying right now he's a bottom half in the NRL and he's being judged for his potential not what he is right now.

He is a tryer and that is what we need at half,NO break for Farah ? JC has adapted to Robbies way lol.

I think the boys went pretty well, glad our defense is so much better this year. I think it's crap that the 9 commentators bang on about Souths not being on their game, with little acknowledgement of the Tigers defense

Very proud of your efforts today Tigers. We were always in with a chance to win. Unfortunately a try very late in each half from Souths otherwise we would likely have worried Souths out of the game.

Agree and a Farah try helps the coffers.

I mute it and listen to triple m

I don't actually think the subs issue is really a performance issue as much as a mental one on both sides of the play. When the other team look up and see Ava, Santi and Buchanan they go "right, time to run over these clowns" and really lift. Same in reverse for us. They look around and there is no forwards leader out there. Wouldn't matter if it was Lodge either. We just have too young a bench. Ava is trying to be the rotating forwards leader and his performances back it up but I don't think he has the presence and the runs on the board to do it effectively.

For that, I'd be swapping KG and Ava tbh. Ava run on, KG off the bench.

I also think that we need more impact off the bench. Halatau, Santi, Buchanan are all capable first graders but we only need so many toilers. We need Funaki or Akauola to inject some dynamism off the bench imo.

I also think Lawrence as a centre is just not offering enough. He hasn't really put a foot wrong but Simona gets the ball and carries in 15 metres by shuffling at the line and just looking the part, he turns and runs down Dylan Walker. Lawrence makes his tackles, does a hit up and can't catch a high ball. Noffa takes his jersey. Naqaima can stay, he runs hard and boy can he line up a hit!

If we were looking to win a comp this year I'd say change the halves but considering they're a project I guess we keep going with them. Otherwise … we've got a good side!

I think Drinkwater for Moses. Moses just looks a little overawed at the moment. He doesn't look the least bit dangerous in attack, but in his defence, does perform a very good link with the outside men.
We just need to ask more questions of the opposition defence and Drinkwater might do that. I don't think it will happen for a few weeks yet, and Moses may get better in that time.
Brooks is making a few too many mistakes, but looks more solid than Moses to me.

Too many UE's, our centers were outplayed Simona (71 m) and Lawrence (84m) compared with opposition's 240 m. Luke outplayed Farah convincingly
However, we won props battle
Woods again over 200m and Galloway 125 m.
Unfortunately it looks like we will again hit the wall of injuries, Lodge and Sironen, so much about improved S&C :frowning:
JT was again very good, 180 m.
Sue (119m from 13 runs, 44 tackles, 0 MT) and Taupau (108 m from 10, 44 TK, 3 MT) were very good, as well as SIronen before injury.
Naiqama's tackles were excellent, he deserves to keep his place when Nofoaluma comes back.

Go Tigers :sign:
