He certainly has us in his sights. Grand finals over,pre season training has not began and most clubs are on holidays, so there is very little in the way of NRL news to fill the sport section of the papers, so blokes like Rothfield just take the easy option and make up a whole lot of crap.

Okay there are some things that are true, like we are club that bounces from one turmoil to another and our board and CEO never seem to be able resolve issues internally but to say we are a target for relocation or extinction is pure fantasy.

Seriously , which club would be more likely to be relocated than us if they decide to do it. , I'm not asking which club you'd like to go , but which club is the weakest and most financially unstable
He's right about most of what he said, and Parra and The Panthers aren't going anywhere , and we should be securing our future by at least looking at the possibility.
Instead of just crying that we did our bit before.
The NRL are not going to take anything into consideration about past joint ventures.

We'll be looked at exactly as the other teams are.
And whichever way you look at it. We would be a perfect fit for a relocation.
All the infighting about the JV. And Balmains money current problems will be at the front of the Nrls mind if any decisions are to be made, and I don't think it will be far in the future that at least one team, or even two will be gone or relocated
We can ignore it until they are pulling down the goalposts, or we can look at it ourselves and create an entirely new future where we have less competition for money
And spectators.
It's easy to see that qld are screaming for more teams and being heard. It's likely that they will get another teams in the near future.
Perth is the other place that is in the running, and would be the ideal place for us
If we don't at least consider all options , then we are absolutely stupid.

Ha, Cronulla have their act together clearly, just a year after half the side got suspensions for banned substances, the coach was suspended, CEO and chairman stood down; they almost lost their development application and even this year one of their star players was rubbed out for the season.

Let's write this article 18 months ago, pick and choose when we draw lines under teams.

Parramatta are a basket case with an inept board
Penrith used to fly high on the coat tails of their leagues club, but in more recent times have struggled financially
St George are also under financial pressure
The Titans have had to sell all their assets and with recent bad publicity over player behaviour and recreational drugs they could be relocated
Cronulla are developing, but as I understand it they have received their money and are not entitled to any more until 2018.

I don't see why the Tigers are any more at risk than the above, maybe less as we did merge when it was required.

Back on topic though our crowds and memberships are unacceptable and our current playing roster is basically substandard in many positions

Many people are going to have to dig very hard to dig us out of this abyss in the short term future
