Wests Tigers website ranked first in NRL

Wests Tigers have been confirmed by the NRL as the premier digital club in the competition.

The Wests Tigers website once again ranked first across the league for pageviews, racking up over six millions impressions in 2012.

The remarkable result saw the club bank over 600 thousand more pageviews than the nearest competitors, including grand finalists Canterbury.

The enormous traffic to the Wests Tigers website provided sponsors with unparalleled exposure, with 639 thousand unique visitors viewing content.

Wests Tigers are now ranked third in the NRL across the social networks, sporting almost 175 thousand fans including on the club's own Wests Tigers Social Network.

And it just continues to get better for Wests Tigers Digital. The committed support of Wests Tigers Members and fans sees the club on track to record a minimum 15% increase across pageviews and unique viewers in 2013.

Wests Tigers are encouraging potential sponsors to take advantage of advertising opportunities for 2013.

By way of comparison, it would be interesting to see how many views we had on our humble little forum last year.

I don't know about 2012, but since we started back around 10 July 2009, we have had:

Total topic views: 13707422

I don't know if that includes visits to the front page, but we're getting close to 14 million topic views.

Probably because you've had about 1000 different accounts in that time multiply that by 720

Back on topic ,everyone on here does a fantastic job and I'd reckon we probably would be at least equal with the official site with amount of volume that goes through

I hardly visited weststigers.com.au last year. This year, though, they have done a great job with updating articles and videos constantly. If they keep that up, I will be there very regularly.

I'm the same Juro. But this year has been a MASSIVE improvement, not only in the frequency of posts, but the quality too. In years gone by there were your typical off-season fluffy posts about how well the team is preparing with reused cliches and quotes from players that I'm sure were just written by Cuzzo! This year we see photos and videos every day, and diversity too, from training to interviews etc.

I've been traveling overseas since October but have stilled visited the forum religiously! Whenever I come across wifi it goes emails, Facebook, forum!

Website stats can be read in many different ways. For example, do the WT stats include their iphone app and social media sites? To complete an accurate comparison I’d need to see how they got their numbers, but here’s ours:

284,000 unique visitors to WTForum.com, compared to 639,000 to WT.com
Impressions are a little harder to calculate, but “threads/topics” (any page ending in /viewtopic.php) were viewed 2mil times. That doesn’t include visits to the front page, forum home, messages or any RoarFEED activity. So, I dunno, throw another 0.5mil ontop of that?
2.5mil impressions compared to 6mil for WT and 5.4mil for the second best.

Not bad

I saw some stat a week or 2 ago talking about cricket websites. Apparently more people visited the Channel Nine website than cricinfo or cricket.com.au. I find that very hard to believe. I wasn't even aware of the Nine website…
