What happens between 30-60min?

Our for-and-against stats are the worst for all NRL teams during this period.

We seem to derail in all games thus far during this period and it happened again last night. It coincides with the rotation of the starting props.

When Ava and Sue were on at the start and back end of last nights game we seemed in control. When the first set of interchanges came on, we lost momentum, gave away penalties, lost direction.

Grant and Woods are missing which will change the rotation system but it still needs fine tuning.

Would it not be better to have Woods and Grant start together with Aloai at lock?
That would leave Ava and Sue to come on as the first prop rotation with Halatau at lock.

We need to find a better balance of youth and experience on the field at any given time.

Just a thought.

Think it can be excused last night given the late changes and lack of options available, but it's been a concern every other week.
Hopefully we can tie up old mate Elijah Taylor - him playing big mins at 13 would mean Sue and Ava would be our bench props, which should assist greatly.

Yeah it could be due to a lack of props and this elusive ET signing that's been on the cards for some time now

We just seem to continually switch off during this period. Whether it's due to the front row rotation I'm not sure, but Souths started to throw the ball around a bit and we always struggle when teams do this as we're not a defensively dominant team, often letting players stand in tackles and get offloads away.

Always happens when we get a big lead, over confident, drop balls, discipline gets messy and we just generally shut up mentally

Having Grant and Woods back in the prop rotation may help a bit, not sure though

The interchange has a lot to do with it…Last night we also started (or ref's) bringing Souff's into the game giving penalties away...Our completions up to that point was great...

We only stabilised the ship when Ava and Sue came back on...for that reason when Woods and Grant are back ..I would consider starting Woods and Ava who's has proved he can handle starting and have Grant and Sue coming off the bench as the rotation with Aloiai coming in as lock...

i have three reasons

1\. we start very strong, incredibly strong in almost each game. the refs pretty much try to even it out at the 25 minute stage
2\. forwards get fatigued just before half time. our backrowers play 80, starting props play almost all of 1st half without a break.
3\. SUE! i thought it was woods but sue is off during that period.

We are good at catching teams off guard when they are trying to go through their structures. That's why we can always skip out to 4-12 point leads very quickly.

Good rotation Geo, I like it.

Our bash brothers bench of the potter era is the only time in recent memory I remember us gaining something from the bench. We have the cattle to hold our own in most games, just need to fix the structures

I think you need Woods and Grant starting given the big minute they play but I would have aloia start at lock for 20 mins with the more experieced guys then I would bring Sue on at the 25 minute mark with Ava on at approx 30 for Grant. Woods off at 35 minutes for JJ Felise. Then you have Ava, Sue and JJ on in one rotation. After half time when they are ready to finish out the game bring Wood and Grant back on for Ava and JJ replacing JJ with the first back on and Ava with the last, with Sue to stay on if possible and play 55 minutes which he has been playing.

As we have seen this year though almost every game for e very team has an injury or concussion which messes with the rotation

A better bench rotation will help, but last night we took some poor options at the end of the first half, gave away penalties (Farah) and we were starved of the ball for 30mins. Hard to contain any team without the ball.

I think we need to go back to the 6 prop forwards within our team. So prop and lock are basically players that play up the middle and we have 3 of those players on the bench.

Then you just have 2 wide running backrowers and a reserve who is either a dummy half or a bacrower.

I reckon we need Woods, Grant, Ava, Sue, Aloai & Felise (who killed them last night after I doubted him) as those 6 players. We then just have to work out how to interchange them so that we have good go forward and solid defence up the middle all game.
