What happens to Balmain now?

Most would argue that it depends on "Which" Rugby league players salaries you are pumping funds into as to weather the Buisness will be successful
Common sense would also argue that lack of sponsorship would be a direct result of the Football Club Management and onfield results….
I feel both these things the WSRLFC would be held directly accountable for....

At the end of the day, If the WSDRLFC don't want to adhere to the way WT's run thier buisness why would they continue to work with them?
Once again… Nobody seems to be able to outline the benefits of having team mates bashing up against each other every other week??

Are these lasts two posts 'excuses' for accepting that balmain is dead and happy to move on as wt. We all know the benefits and reality of a great modern team in WT- thats not the debate. The two key debates are nsw
Cup team (who/how/where etc) and the 'side debate' of recognising the wests side of the joint venture. The magpies brand would only be kept alive in nsw cup. I know that there is a wt brand that is pushed in one direction and that is fine. The whinging magpie diehards and the wests football club memers want to stay alive at a senior level! Roosters are happy to not worry about a nsw cup team nor do souths. They let bears and jets stay alive in nsw cup to feed their nrl sides. Why cant wt let the magpies stay alive?? FFS its only the NSW cup. The feeding structure can only benefit WT. If balmain are broke let magpies be the feeder side as long as ashfield is willing to support them financially.

They are hardly 'excuses' as you put it. Again, it's the majority that accept the reality of what is, and it's the minority such as yourself who go around in circles over and over, repeating the same old story and claiming that Wests are hard done by and everyone is against the Magpies.

It's simply ignorance and paranoid delusion on your part. You say you want to stay alive at a senior level. Well for all intents and purposes it seems you are - I suggest you read this sentence several times so it sticks.

You seem to be ignorant of the fact that WT want ONE (1) merged state cup team playing under the name Wests Tigers - Please read this sentence several times.

Balmain agreed to this proposal, and as a result the point of this thread is that Balmain will field WT contracted players and go by the name Wests Tigers in State Cup if this is what is intended. Wests did not agree to the proposal, they believe they can go it alone so good luck to them. Again though, by doing so they have lost the opportunity to have WT contracted players playing for them. But hey, you asked the question why not let the Magpies stay alive, well guess what, they are - except they'll have a bunch of locals playing for them.

So for you to come on here and whinge about Wests in a topic which is focused on Balmain is nothing short of trolling. And if you really want people to listen to your complaining, then go to Wests and tell it to them, I'm sure they'll be all ears. All you're doing here is going around in circles in the vein of Daniel Fitzhenry and you're really not achieving anything except getting one step closer to having your posts deleted for trolling.

Stop going around in circles Bug, you'll make yourself dizzy. The answer to your question lies with Wests management - Not Wests Tigers management, but Wests. They made their decision, for better or for worse, now they have to live with it, and I strongly suspect you will have to live with it too. They want to go it alone, well they can, that's good news for the 200 Wests diehards out there. But by doing so they've lost the opportunity to have WT contracted players playing for them because they've given WT management the finger in relation to merging with Balmain. Their decision - And they have to deal with the consequences of fielding a team of wood ducks each week.

Instead of complaining on here which achieves nothing, why don't you focus your energy on complaining to the people who have a say in all of this, namely Western Suburbs management? Pick up the phone, grab a pen and paper, type an email, start a petition, call in to public radio and voice your concern.

You're complaining to the wrong people on here Bug, the majority want ONE Wests Tigers named State Cup team. The majority accept that this is the way of the future. It's the .01% who want Wests to stay alive (considering they get about 200 people turning up to a State Cup fixture as to the Wests Tigers who can pull in crowds of 20000).

And before this degenerates into a Balmain V Wests thread - WHICH IT IS NOT. Please stick to the topic.

Going off topic or trolling will result in posts being deleted from this point forward.

There are numerous WT sub forum topics filled with posts from people like myself. We may be in the minority but we are vocal and passionate. We want to continue the tradition of a club (WM) that makes up 50% of a club we all follow passionately today (WT). It cannot be argued that there is not an equivalent of vocal and passionate fans/forum posters/members from the 'balmain side'. That is where the frustration lies with most WM diehards. These views and frustrations are seen as obstruction to WT success or operations It shouldnt have to be. Frustration is not directesd at traditional balmain supporters but towards current and previous WM management and existing WT administrators who acknowledge an 'sensitive issue' on the WM side of the JV (the extension of balmain reference from humphries)

If magpies are Able to operate a nsw cup team with less of a financial burden on WT and can feed the WT NRL side (compared directly to balmain's current capability) then why cant it be considered by those in power?? (its answers that are not expected on the forums but expressed via the forums)

Roosters, Souths, panthers, eels, dragons, warriors, storm dont have matching nsw cup feeder sides so what is the real harm in magpies wanting to still exist at state level?

The WT brand would not be affectex for better or worst if that ever went ahead..

Some people seem to find the concept of sticking to a topic difficult. Believe me, it's not. Please read the thread title because this thread is certainly not about Wests, and posts made in reference to Wests - In this thread, will be deleted.

Willow did you move it to another sub topic or delete it all together? All sub forum topics here (that are non game day team list, or junior delevelopment related) relate directly to the FUTURE of balmain AND wests in some way or another…..

Deleted it altogether. I made my intentions quite clear if people are not prepared to stick to the topic at hand.

So you can have your say about Wests but not other people?

Sounds fair.

I spoke to Sheens a couple of years ago and he stated that he preferred to have two sides (Balmain and Wests) as he got to choose from 34 players instead of 17.

So what has happened to that scenario?

I asked members to stick to the topic. Clearly it is too diffficult for some to comprehend.

In relation to your comment concerning Sheens, it would seem the circulstances have changed - as they tend to over time. And have you considered the fact that the decision for Balmain to cease and play as under the Wests Tigers banner may have been brought about by mitigating factors other than Sheens, or outside of his control?

As for Balmain, the State Cup draw has just been released. Despite many people claiming that Ryde-Eastwood have deserted them, they are clearly in the name for the team.

2012 VB NSW Cup structure:
NSW Cup club - NRL Affiliate
Auckland Vulcans - New Zealand Warriors
**Balmain-Ryde-Eastwood Tigers - Wests Tigers**
Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs - Own team
Cronulla Sharks - Cronulla Sharks & Melbourne Storm
Illawarra - St George-Illawarra Dragons
Manly Sea Eagles - Own team
Mounties - Canberra Raiders
Newcastle Knights - Own team
Newtown Jets - Sydney Roosters
North Sydney Bears - South Sydney Rabbitohs
Wentworthville Magpies - Parramatta Eels
**Western Suburbs Magpies - Own team**
Windsor Wolves - Penrith Panthers

I think this dispels that rumor, and confirms that Balmain Ryde-Eastwood are playing in the NSW Cup of 2012 in affiliation with Wests Tigers. Settled?

Why does Ryde Eastwood get to be linked with the Wests Tigers and have NRL players play for them when Wests Magpies partly own the Wests Tigers and get no Wests Tigers Players ??

Willow answered your question in an earlier post Bug.

Why is our NSW Cup team called Balmain Ryde Eastwood? I thought we were going to be called Wests Tigers? I don't want to support Balmain i support Wests Tigers.

Bug just be careful… This sub forum topic is for the future of the balmain leagues club and any flow on issue to the football team. Dont bring up any referance to the other half of the jv on this sub forum topic.

Why do we keep having the same discussions??

Because some people choose to live with their head in the sand while the rest of the world moves on and progresses.

At least the 2012 draw now confirms that Balmain Ryde Eastwood Tigers will live on in name for 2012 at least.

So whats next?
4 or 5 or Games at SFS/SCG and 7 or 8 at Leichhardt?
The Magpie disappearing from the jersey?
The Wests disappearing from Wests Tigers in our name?
Seems to be what the Maggies want.

Cant have your cake and eat it too.
