There are so many wonderful Japanese bands and have been for about a decade,i would argue that Lovebites are the best metal band in the world and Band-Maid are the best rock band (both are surprisingly all female).Wagakkiband do an exceptional fusion of western music and japanese music using traditional japanese instruments also with guitars and drums.
Babymetal i really do not enjoy at all even though i have tried many times.

I had never heard of Babymetal til the other day, I still can't decide if it is awesome or a lame gimmick.

Babymetal use decent session musicians for the instruments but i find them lacking in substance and imo are what i would descibe as a gimmick band like the Monkees in 70s.The 3 Japanese bands i mentioned are far superior imo despite some people just deriding 2 of them as just "female" bands they are all quality groups who are getting a lot of aclaim all over the world.
