What to do with Moses?

I take mental health very seriously.

The only decent thing to do is to take him out of the NRL first grade situation that is causing all this stress. I wouldn't pick him until he has had a few good sessions of rehabilitation, in Thailand if that's what it takes. That did wonders for the other Mitchell bloke.

If the rehab counsellors think it is ok, then bring him back through reserve grade, off the bench at first then slowly increase his minutes. Once he has shown he has overcome the stress, introduce him to the first grade coach again.

I've known lots of people who suffer from stress and a lot of them are genuine, not all.

What I do know is that the worst outcome is to release him to Parramatta into a different and strange working environment. Not until he is suitably rehabilitated.

I fully agree with this. It would be remiss in the extreme to place this poor young lad under any more stress by drastically changing his workplace. Rehabilitation is the answer.

Moses is cause me serious metal stress. I want compension. Fairs Fair

Each game Moses plays , he should do a lap of shame and hand over his pay ($100 notes) to all of us suffering supporters …
But I'd settle for binge drinking holiday (rehab) to Thailand !

Parra won't compensate us with a player or cash, there going to get him anyway, sad fact but true ,unfortunately we're not in a strong position here, if we don't want him here we're just going to let him go there or put him in reggies for the remainder of the year.

Parra lost their best player today for some time. Our "position" just increased.

They still won't be prepared to offer us anyone significant imo. Maybe the kid we've already signed, but that would be it imo.

Thats cool no release then.

Bingo, they'll reconsider when their season starts going to pot without Norman.

Did Parra ever officially confirm Moses?

I really think he will be at the eels in a couple of weeks now that Norman got injured. Do we have to get immediate compensation for him? Or can the eels release someone in a months time or so?
So I beg the question 'Who plays 6 for us at Suncorp on Friday night??

Norman might only miss 4 weeks (is that 3 games with bye during Origin?).

Who plays at 6 for us at Suncorp? Anyone but Moses.

Parramatta desperate for Mitchell Moses

Parramatta’s mid-season pursuit of Mitchell Moses has taken on added importance after Eels talisman Corey Norman suffered a knee injury yesterday that could sideline him for more than a month.

Norman, the Eels’ best performer this season, limped from the field in the 51st minute with a suspected grade two tear of his medial ligament.

The early prognosis was at least a month on the sidelines, although it could be no longer depending on the result of scans today.

The Eels have signed Moses for next season but the Tigers pivot has been pressing his current club to gain an early release so he can join Parramatta ahead of schedule.

Eels coach Brad Arthur was reluctant to discuss speculation over Moses’ impending arrival following his side’s thrashing at the hands of the Roosters, although no one could blame him for stepping up his pursuit this morning as he ponders an immediate future without Norman.

“That’s out of my control — that’s up to the Tigers,” Arthur said. “We have plenty of things we need to get right before we worry about that. I think — and obviously they’ll need to send him (Norman) for scans — but I’ve been told it’s a grade two medial.

“That’s about four weeks but we’ll have to get scans.”

The injury setback has ruined Norman’s hopes of securing a State of Origin debut in the opening game of this year’s series and could yet rule him out for the second game as well.

With North Queensland co-captain Johnathan Thurston in doubt with a shoulder problem, Norman was locked in a four-way battle with Daly Cherry-Evans, Anthony Milford and Michael Morgan to wear the Maroons No 6 jersey had he been unable to overcome the problem.

Morgan made a statement on Thursday night with a man-of-the-match display while Milford led Brisbane to a win over Cherry-Evans’ Manly. Norman had no such joy. He and his teammates were the subject of an early blitzkrieg from the Roosters and by the time he left the field, the game was over.

Norman had his leg buckled in a tackle and immediately sensed a problem. He valiantly attempted to regain his place in the defensive line, limping noticeably, before making his way from the field and straight up the tunnel.

The injury is a savage setback to both his and the club’s ambitions. Aside from a Queensland jersey, Norman was in the thick of contention for the Dally M medal, trailing leader Cameron Smith by only six points heading into the weekend.

He now faces an extended stint on the sidelines, which has robbed him of the opportunity to potentially make his Origin debut as well.

Arthur insisted he and Norman had not discussed the prospects of playing Origin, instead focusing on his value to Parramatta.

“Me and Corey hadn’t really spoken about it,” Arthur said.

“His priority is playing well for Parramatta and if he’s playing well enough the teams will get selected on the back of that. Yeah, I’m disappointed for him, but I’m disappointed for our club.

“Because at the end of the day he’s here to play for Parramatta. He’s going to have lots of opportunities to play rep footy, but his priority is Parramatta.’’

Clearly Cleary and Moses are not in a good space with each other - Moses should not play one more FG game for us.

I suggest the WTs go all GoT on Moses until he admits his actions on and off the field have cause metal health issues to the club that has spoon raised him.

Like any contracted player, if his form justifies pay him in NRL, if not drop him to reserve grade. Many better players than Moses have played out their final contract years well for their club. He cannot not get away with simply sooking his way to a release, that would look very bad.

If the situation suits and benefits WT then release him ASAP.

If he is having genuine Mental Health Issues, then go through the processes; I would not release him on those grounds.

Personally, I would not want to play with someone who is not putting in 100%.

Critical time for Cleary…Moses is clearly of no use to WT whatsoever, and in fact his presence is a liability to the club and candidly we're better off without him...but Cleary cant be seen as losing the arm wrestle with player/agent power, as a precedent is created
He cant possibly play him next w/e in firsts...so if Eels don't come to the party with a satisfactory offer maybe Cleary drops a couple of players (along with Moses)to reserves next week to avoid a confrontation with Imoses played out in the media.
No shortage of candidates for this strategy..starting with liddle(why play a 9 on the bench against a monster pack?)

And I'm sure most of our players feel the same.
Situations like this foster resentment and mistrust…. In a game where trust in your team mate is vital, it's no wonder we are sucking balls on field right now
