What's Up Vossy

So … I thought the Footy Show was heading on the right track last year by talking more footy. Got experts on more often, had the 'master class', addressed the current issues in the game.

Just saw an ad for the show and Wendell Sailor, Andrew Johns and Darryl Brohman featured heavily.

Looks like some things never change. 90mins of boofheads. Oh dear...

How can you not like the big marn?

Well…..it start off sort of OK..

The panel giving their opinions of who the Grand finalists will be ...who will win it etc......

Then the Big Maaaan's fatness video took it to it's normal level of tripe....

Bring back Vossy!!!!!!

I take it All back…...

Beau Ryan Winger...your All class mate....

That's entertainment....great stuff...........

Matty Johns should add Michael Hodgson to his new shows line-up. In every interview or media commitment he always comes across incredibly natural and intelligent.

Don't mind Voss. But the banter on The Footy Show started to get annoying - it was fabricated in my opinion and became pretty transparent.

Same here, I thought Voss was pretty good, but the banter went over the top. Thats the problem with the footy show, people will find someone or something funny the first time, and then they overkill it.

Like that Hitler scene. Enough. Not funny anymore!

Or Ash & Lutz, they were funny on their 1st segment, suddenly they were on a couple of segments a week.

Starts 3 weeks into the season, 19:30 Thursday nights, Matty Johns and Shane Webke

Only those 2? No other TV personality who knows nothing about football? Doesn't sound like Channel 7 to me.

Interesting to start 3 weeks in… well... not interesting, totally stupid actually. Can't wait to see what kind of show this will be!

I give it two episodes and then Tom Williams will be on there

Hahaha I was thinking the same thing!

I reckon the reason its starting in 3 weeks is because of the AFL season is starting around then. I think rd 1 of the AFL season will be under be under the belt when it starts. The show is meant to be mainly Rugby League based but cmon, do you guys really think ch 7 wont do a few pieces on the sport that they actually broadcast. And if the show is going Australia wide then we will definitely see AFL on there. And then when the international Rugby starts we'll probably be loaded with that too.

We'll probably see Bruce McAvaney, Sandy Roberts and Gordon Bray pop on there at some stage.

Missed the show but the only thing I dislike about Vossy is how heavily he tends to promote Brisbane and/or QLD when the respective teams are playing.

Is he from QLD is he?

Did anyone catch the Sunday Footy Show and the Roast today?

It's hilarious how upset the so called experts are that those nasty Dragons have audacity to tactically play Hayne out of the game. Lets just make a new rule that when he gets the ball all tackling is illegal and must be able to score.

Even when Parra lose they get more coverage than the winners, I hate St George but they outplayed Parra.

I'm not sure if he is from QLD or not but it's probably because he always commentates the Friday Night game featuring a QLD team.

they were doing it to slater and stewart last year aswell, imo its not in the spirit of the game, sure kick it into touch thats fine but to deilberatly kick it dead and sometimes on the full is wrong, there should be a rule brought in place for deliberatly kicking it dead like soward was on friday night

How do you know if it's delibrate or not…?

A couple pulled up and the Eels were trapped in the in Goal....Grothe/ Hayne dummy spit for 1...

If the ball trickles dead it's OK....if it goes out at a rate of knotts it's deliberate....

More whining from the Hayne is God brigade.....

Spirit of the game pfffft....Winning is more important....

someone with a precise kicking game as soward you can tell when its deliberate.

seriously geo are you gonna say that soward didnt deliberatly kick the ball dead on friday night?

he did the same thing to slater last year

Im with Ron on this one.

Its not in the spirit of the game and whats more, it makes the game boring!!!

Sometimes rules need to be tinkered to help improve the game.

Remember back in the mid 80s (I wasnt around btw) where the dogs continually got line dropouts by putting bombs up into the in goal area.

The product needs to be as good as possible with the AFL around.

I say if the ball goes dead take it out to where the ball was kicked, unless the kick is from inside the 20, then have a normal restart..
