Whats wrong with grubbers

I could cop Brooks playing 6 if he would stop those pathetic semi bombs which never seem to work.Every team in the cp uses the grubber except us .So many tries are scored this year from this tactic at worst you usually get a line drop out.Can somebody tell me why the coaches aren't using this it's so obvious that it works better than those stupid bombs

With the current trend in short drop outs, it’s a 50/50 chance you won’t get another set on the oppositions line.

Attacking teams still use the grubber but are also using bombs that land 1-2 metres in the field of play and backing their defence.

Brooksy tends to grubber into the oppositions legs so the ball tends not to find it's way into the ingoal area.

Whats wrong with grubbers?

Nothing, but I think youll find the answer youre looking for in the question - What's wrong with the shit for brains Tigers not playing a NRL quality half back since Lui was dumped?

This is a good point, which admittedly does take away some of the benefit. However I would say it's closer to 2/3rds of dropouts being retained by the receiving team, including some which don't go 10 that are a gift two points.

I think the rules are flawed when it comes to grubbers and 7 tackles. The7 tackles was bought in to stop the boring play of kicking the ball dead from outside the 20m zone to reduce the fullbacks involvement, this is not the case when you’re inside the red zone and grubbers should be rewarded not penalised.
I reckon any grubber, or any kick, kicked from inside the red zone should not be penalised with a 7 tackle set if the ball goes dead. These kicks from inside the red zone are attacking kicks and should be rewarded as such.
I believe this was an oversight by the nrl at the time of implementing the 7 tackle set rule and yet again shows the lack of foresight.

Last time the Tigers made the finals was with a half back. Are you serious?

You are correct he did have the number 7 on the back of his jersey in 2011.

It’s an interesting analysis and selection to make considering all the other players that the Wests Tigers had playing for them in 2011.

I mean, if you think a player of Rob Lui’s caliber is what is missing from our squad these days and would make the difference to our current form in 2023 that’s entirely up to you.

Might be worth reviewing the circumstances upon which he left WT and also the reason he left the next club he played for.
