When Nofo bumped off Slater...

All you shoulder charge tragics should learn to live in the modern era and get over it. For this game to prosper, it has to be seen as a contact sport but mostly it must be seen as a game of skill. The future depends solely on juniors and if parents don't believe that their kids will be adequately protected, they will simply enrol them in some other sport like soccer.

For myself, who grew up watching this game in the "clouds of dust, buckets of blood" era, I can only say that, as time goes on and more brilliant athletes are produced in Rugby League, I applaud the developments which make the game safer for the players. We, as fans, have no right to demand that young athletes be subjected to tactics which will leave them arthritic vegetables in years to come - just for our entertainment.

If you want to see this type of thuggery, go and watch ultimate fighting; that should be suitably prehistoric for you.

You make a fair point until you showed your true colours with your sign off sentence. You should pull your skirt down sweetheart….your panties are showing.

And your sign off line is just an impotent insult because you couldn't think of a serious argument against what I said. I think that ultimate fighting is an appalling spectacle engaged in by those who have no other way to make an income, given their apparent lack of intelligence and watched by those on a similar mental level.

Now, back to the debate. I love Rugby League and I applaud any initiative which makes it safer to play. Why? Because, when players can display skill and athletic prowess unfettered by the threat of being taken out by someone of lesser skill, the game continues to grow as a spectacle; youngsters are encouraged to take up the sport and the future becomes brighter because of that.

I love a good debate and I'd like to hear your opposing arguments.

See where you're coming from but thing's like Koro's efforts to stop someone scoring shouldnt be a shoulder charge. He literally shoved the guy away with his arms and somehow got penalised for it.. Although slater wasnt penalised i reckon it should be a shoulder charge under these shoddy rules too.

Let's be clear here - personal insults will not be tolerated. Posts have been deleted due to this reason. Please don't escalate this.

I agree.

Even though you don't appear as an "Administrator", I accept that you are. I went out of my way to avoid any personal insults but I did acknowledge the insult which was directed at me. I don't see how a general reflection on ultimate fighting audiences can be construed as personal and was deleted. Perhaps, on reflection, you may have served the debate better by just removing the offending parts instead of whole posts.

Anyway, I agree that debates should be conducted with reasoned arguments rather than insults and I will always attempt to do this.
