Where does Sheens rank Brown ??

I am a little confused at where we are with Mitch Brown

Don't get me wrong James Tedesco is the future of the Tigers as fas as fullback in concerned

But what position does Sheens see as Brown's best , Winger ,centre or fullback

And if he sees him as mainly a winger , where in line is he assuming that Ryan and Tuqiri are the starters (when fit) then we have Utai ,Brown ,Grant, Meaney and the new NYC Fijian winger

Centres pick themselves with Lawrence and Ayshford then we have Meaney ,Simona,Utai and Brown

So where does leave Brown Do you think he will see much top grade ??

(Sorry forgot to add I think Reddy will be a bench back \utility)

I see the picking order as this:

FULLBACK:

1\. Tedesco
2\. Moltzen
3\. Reddy
4\. Brown

WING:

1\. Utai
2\. Reddy
3\. Brown

CENTRE

1\. Reddy
2\. Utai
3\. Simona
4\. Brown

The writing is on the wall for Mitch, as sad as it is to say. He's best of chasing a starting spot at either Cronulla or Souths

It's a bit of a mystery isn't it?

I see the signing of Reddy a bit puzzling. The starting 3/4s would most likely be Ryan, Ayshford, Lawrence & Tuqiri. The depth there already is substantial with Brown, Utai, Grant, Humble, Meaney, Simona, and then a few players without FG experience like Koroibete etc. I rate Brown as the top of the 'depth' players and would have him in line to fill the spot left by Tuqiri should he retire in the near future. Maybe Sheens sees Reddy as the new Brown - 10minute benchy who can play 1-5 but is a bit bigger?

I'm a big fan of Brown and hope he gets a permanent spot in the starting line somewhere, he definitely deserves it.

Looks like Sheens will stick with Moltzen at half and I'm not sure if Brown is injured at the moment but I think Sheens will use him at fullback for the majority of the season.

The youngsters will get a go but when experience counts I think we will see Brown there.

I would hope so. The best opportunity for Brown to have cemented his spot was last year, and he didn't even get a go.

Circumstance has cruelled him, it would seem.

Too many others in front of him, barring injuries, I can't see him being at the club next year as he won't get much of an opportunity to play in the top grade this year.

Brown is the best high kick fielder in our team but I don't recall him making too many line-breaks from the back. I'd have him in front of Utai but not Reddy.

So blackandwhite, what your saying is that Sheens is using this weeks trial as an actual trial to give Teddy a taste of 1st grade and assuming Brown is carrying niggling injury he will take over the full back role once fully fit.
I like Brown, but let's hope Teddy blows them off the park and gives Sheens something to think about.

If brown was rated by Sheens he would have kept the 1 jersey after his finals campaign in 2010.
I feel sorry for Mitch, he's a great footballer, safe under the high ball and can kick goals too. I think we'll se Moltzen back in the 1 before we see Brown there this year.

I hope your right I would like to see what Mitch is capable of if not playing for a position each week.

If he is playing well and lost the fullback spot to someone playing better then we would be in really good position.

This love affair with Brown is somewhat funny… Yes the bloke seems a really nice guy and gives his best, but so do some of the Cheer Girls!

Brown is handy on the Wing, and is solid under a highball, but he has little to no creativity. I'd be very suprised if he is being considered at Fullback.

Mitch is one of those guys who is handy to call when you have injuries, and this would be why he is still apart of our Top 25 Squad. Other clubs might be interested, but they wouldnt be looking at Brown in the starting 13 as he simply doesnt have that X Appeal.

I'm glad he is in our squad, as I know he wont let us down when called upon!

…... Without even Considering Reddy
I feel for MB... He has it WELL OVER Utai in EVERY FACET OF THE GAME... Barring metres gained (Possibly)
We have just bought AB (So surely it evens itself out?)
I feel Utai went well at the start of last year because he'd been out for a while, And no-one have given him a thought.
This year (And toward the end of last year somewhat) Opposition teams started to work him out and I feel he will be fatally exposed this year.
He is slow, doesn't have the best hands, non-existant under the high ball, And heavy on his feet... Without even mentioning his Agility.... or lack of it!! If Sheensy is serious, Utai will be on the Bench at best this year.
Anyone who thinks he deserves a start over MB is kidding....

Points Noted….
But I'd have Brown over 2 Utai's....
(No point being hard to tackle if you can't catch and are to slow....)

I agree Watto. No disrespect to Mitch at all, he offers very good utility value, but the Tigers roster is strong and with the emergence of Tedesco and the signing of Reddy, Mitch is really going to have to take his game to another level if he's going to spend consistent time in FG this season IMO.
