Where has the 'Wests' name gone in TV calls?

I have noticed (especially on fox sports commentary) that Wests Tigers are referred to as 'The Tigers' during match previews and during the call. Just watching tonights game and i have yet to hear the words 'wests tigers' at all.

This is NOT a wests v balmain matter but its seeking recognition and simple respect of the wests side of the JV

There is enough things going AGAINST the wests brand - we don't need media killing it off any more than it has been.

PLEASE NOTE: i am NOT asking for any references to the 'magpies 'or 'western suburbs'or just 'wests' on its own…

WESTS Tigers is not a mouthful or a tongue twister.

Cant help but notice it.

Watching the game intently and it sticks out in my mind.

Doesn't make me any less of a WT fan for bringing it up.

Enjoying the game so far.

It may mean nothing to some WT fans but its significant to many WT fans.

NRL.COM today

Will Tigers cope
without Farah?

**Wests** will have to overcome the absence of skipper Robbie Farah if they are to beat an injury-depleted Canberra on Monday night. Can they do it?

Realy who cares. They get referred to Wests a bit more then your making out, hence Ink's link

Its not trying to stir emotions or start arguments.. Its a point i am making about a trivial matter.

WT is a powerful brand and should be promoted fully especially via the number one medium - TV

The references are inconsistent but i am noticing more and more.

It doesn't change how or what WT do on the field but it can mean something to WT fans more than other WT fans.

Smith has called them 'Wests' three times so far. I personally don't like when we're referred to 'Wests Tigers', i'd prefer either 'Wests' or 'Tigers ' by themselves. If you look around, almost every team in the comp is referred to by their second name

I realise that… Its just more noticeable then previous years and calls. Leichhardt game round 1, matt russell didn't call them wests or wests tigers once ALL game

As i said i don't want to drag this on to a mammoth debate. I just want the team to be referred to wests tigers during calls more often (NOT all game or every time) than what we currently are

Not a big ask.

The least of our worries at the moment…. I'd be more concerned with 48 missed tackles

Fair dinkum, is that all you can post about?

And as mentioned by others I heard 'Wests' numerous times during the call. (I am a Wests fan for many decades!)

I wish they had called them Wests the whole night because as a Tigers fan I was so embarassed by their performance and didn't want the Tigers name sullied.
