hadley was a breath of fresh air. i hope he stays the season.
Watching it now .. While Hadley has a good voice for footy and is great on radio (presents a great picture of what is going on). He needs to realise we can see what is going on in TV games. It's just way too overly descriptive for TV. Vossy as a TV personality might not be everyones cup of tea but as a footy caller for TV I'd rather watch a game with him calling.

Someone needs to tell Hadley to take a breath and that he doesn't need to call play by play as if he is on the radio. I think the bigger shocker is the fact that he's in the same commentary box as Fatty. They've only been bitter enemies for the last 15 yrs
I like Ray as a caller and thought he did a good job tonight.
I too am amazed that he and Fatty seem to be getting along so well. They have hated each others guts for years.
I also like Vossy. The one I am starting to dislike is Rabs…he is starting to miss far to much for my liking.

Apprently Vossy will only call games interstate/in New Zealand or when Rabs is unavailable, and has been demoted to #3 commentator.

That whole thing with the old referees did my head in tonight with Gus and Rabs. And then the crap Gus went on about them going on as a couple on The Block. It realy is past the point of being unbearable listening to them two :brick:

Hadley was rocks and diamonds. He was good because he didn't go on about bs but he was bad because he was calling it like radio and distracting.
How about Gus carrying on about Foran like he was the messiah?
The more I hear Gus talk the more I realise he has no original thought about the game. He is a reactionary caller and offers all of his wisdom 'after the fact'.
The greatest example was after game 2 in SOO last year when he screamed down the tv sets at us all that he had told us all along that NSW would win that series. He then shrunk into the background after the mighty maroons FLOGGED them in game 3 to win the series again…..The guy is full of crap for mine and as a coach is fairly cowardly. He wouldnt throw his hat in the ring when NSW had poor rosters yet soon as it was chock a block with international standard players he walked over everyone to get the gig.

My best mate goes to the same school as Andrew Voss' son! The mate is the peer support leader for the son and has asked him where Andrew Voss is.
The reply was something along the lines with Andrew Voss wants to concentrate on his job with news and other stuff.

I wouldn't be surprised if Foxtel come calling with former head of sport for ch 9 Garry Burns now there. If it means booting Andy Raymond out I'd be all for it!

Andrew Voss would have to be the most non bias commentator I know. He provides what I call the fans voice. This meaning he provides his opinions on his interpretations of what he thinks is right.
Not much of a fan of Ray H to be honest, reason being as when he was calling the Rugby World Cup last year, I wasn't able to watch the game as I am use to his voice being on the radio. So there I am listening to the game with the tv on!

Ray is a football caller,thats what he does best. as a shock jock he is way too angry to listen to , but last he was great imo.Icant stand the history lessons that some of the commentators believe we should here,when an ardent football follower already knows.

Hadley is the worst kind of egotistical, loathesome bully. You only needed to observe his reaction to Voss's comments about that absurd statue of Ray Warren. If the conservatives lose the next federal election, it'll be because of intellectual pygmies like this having far too much editorial licence.
As for Voss, he's a little offbeat, but you must love a bloke that can walk around Coles muttering at the descriptions on his shopping list :slight_smile: :smiley:

Was willing to give him a go, but after last nights call, give him a warm up on hawks radio calling state cup, hes not cut out for first grade.
Or let him take a few lessons from Martin Tyler one of the best sports callers ever.

Great point there, Martin Tyler lets the game flow. He's not overbearing but at the same time not boring, he sticks to calling the game and doesnt start getting into an off topic conversation. He still gets excited when there are good goals but he's not boring either. He would be a great Rugby League caller.
