Apparently, the NRL has approved two cap exemptions for tomorrow's first grade game vs Raiders. Hearing that Brenden Santi is one and that the other will be either Setefano Taukafa or Asipeli Fine. Hope they go well.
 
Yeah heard this too. Will be interesting to see how Santi goes. He tries his arse off but is still only a little guy. Can we bring his enthusiasm to the top grade, or will he get monstered? Find out now.

And we desperately need a back, happy for either Fine or Taukafa to get a chance. Can't be any worse that's for sure, so there's no pressure on them at all!

Why only 2 exemptions though? Is that the official rule?
 
Barring injury I think Santi will be a regular fixture come 2015, I saw him at the ground a few weeks ago after he had played and he was a lot bigger than I expected. A full off season pumping iron and he will be a handy player next year, just imagine a player with a high work rate who can tackle,reminds of player called Fulton, and we have won bugger all games since he retired!!!!

Don't quote me but I believe it comes down to having players unavailable to fill those positions once we aren't able to make the semis

So if we can't fill two positions with recognized players in those positions we can bring others in
 
I've only seen limited footage of Santi but I'm not seeing the negatives others do. I see him as very similar to Ryan Hoffman. He's not a huge backrower, but not undersized and he also works hard in attack and does dent the line? Maybe I've only seen him on fire but it is what it is.

He lifted big time playing for Italy in the WC and he seems to have another gear
 
My only concern with Santi is that I have seen him miss some very bad one on one tackles, and we already have Sue for that…
 
So let me get this straight…...will our back 5 all be recognised backs!!! If this is true it must be the first time since our losing streak began??

Santi isn't as small as many seem to think - he wieghs more then a lot of our backrowers

I really think he can provide us with the fulton role we have badly missed this year - tommorrow will onyl be a start next year I can see him playing a full season

A few of those weights are off now, but at least Santi has cracked the 100kg mark.
 
Santi reminds me very much of Nathan Hindmarsh. Not quite as dynamic as Hindmarsh was at his peak - early years - but very effective nonetheless.

Not that many Australian schoolboy captains out there.

So would I…we need a Farah backup and Luani/Halatau/Austin is not the answer
