Who are you going to replace Taylor with?

@Knuckles said:
Not many of the five person board would have known who to choose as coach ….. so they would have relied heavily on Mayer to make the call. Which is why they kept him on as long as they did.

I'm not going to make a judgement call just yet on Taylor ..... but having said that ... the signs are not good.

The board appointed a sub committee to interview and short list coaches for this year. I'm not sure who was on the committee but I'm pretty sure it was 2 from Balmain, 2 from Wests and possibly Mayer.
Taylor came With that Sub committee's recommendation and was appointed by the board.

Best thing they could do with Kimmorley is sack him.

Talking up players for other teams to poach - IS NOT ON!

No he did not. Grow up.

He did,,,wise up..

According to Kimmorley, who coaches the young gun in the 20s, Martin could be an option for the Titans should they elect not to shell out big money on an experienced half.
>
“If they are looking to buy the next up and coming kid then maybe Te Maire Martin,” Kimmorley offered.
>
“He is off contract at the Tigers and the next gun kid coming through.

I am not calling for taylor to be sacked. I think any coach deserves 2 off seasons to try and improve a team.

However you can see this happening. If Taylor gets the spoon this year and then goes say 4 and 8 to start next year. I can see the club giving Kimmorley the interim role until the end of the season and from there it would be his to lose.

Would be the cheap option.

Best thing they could do with Kimmorley is sack him.

Got no bones to pick with you Col.

But check your facts before you berate people.
I do not need to grow up - the coffin is already measured and I can't afford another one.

Russ,by the time you need the wooden overcoat…it will be out of date....agree with you that Kimmorly should not be talking up our talent elsewhere,I'm sure they have the scouts out looking at every convenience.....on another note would you like to meet up at the Knights game inn August...refer to members get together thread...

Hardly an offer. Just stating facts. The Weststigers can make a new deal as well. I don't think that Kimmorley is his manager. Is he?

What do you want him to say? "God, he is a crap footballer and clubs that want to buy him have rocks in their heads"

I'd rather Kimmorley talk up a player we know we can't hang on to. Drive up the bidding war and have another team pay overs for him. More money out of someone else salary cap to offer to a player we might be after.

Let him finish his contract. If the club does not renew, I will have a crack.

My CV: 6+ years on this forum.

How could Go refuse that?

Early days at the moment but i kind of like the Toovey Johns combination.

Toovey's team is running last is it not?

Johns is a nut case.

Another hate Taylor forum. How many more?

You judge Johns and Toovey on their current form but when it comes to Taylor you judge him on his overall vision lol.

Everyone can see through your agenda.

Seriously, any discussion of Toovey is beyond a joke.

Yes, he coached a team to a GF…..but he was handed a premiership winning team and they have been in steady decline since. Tactics have not changed, their best player is walking out and their second best player is only staying on promises Toovey will leave at season end. They are now coming up with rubbish buys (players on final career contracts), namely Mason and Myles.

I think Steve Folkes is the only bloke who could sort our mob out. WT was a 100% better team, all round, when he was onboard those couple of years and it was the only time in this club's short history that they could actually defend well.

We all know that the guy loves a challenge and if I had lots of money I would throw it at Folkes to entice him back to the NRL to take over the reins here - there is no bigger challenge in the game at present, imo.

I posted a couple of weeks ago that my grandson,s under 8 coach would be a bette choice than Taylor, I see NO reason to change my line of thought"….....get rid of him before we lose the few good NRL players we have (who don't want to be coached by a "LOSER")

The real losers are the Wests Tigers management personnel who have graced this club with their presence over the past few years.

I agree with that as well

WTF!!!

What exactly is my agenda?

I do not have a dog in the fight. I would like to see some forum members getting behind the coach and the team instead of trying to undermine everything that the Board and the coach are trying to achieve. That being, in my opinion, a sustainable, reliable, competitive football team.
