If the tigers are going to try and sign lewis , who are we going to move on , word is $ 500 k a year for lewis , seen it on the sharks forum
I think there will be some nervous players around

why would any player be nervous, if they have a contract for 2013 they would still be paid out.

everyone keeps saying contracts mean nothing, but that is rubbish.

unless terminated for disciplinary reasons, clubs cannot cut players without honouring the value of their contract (unless the player is re-contracted at the same or greater value by another club).

so regardless, like bryce and fifita any player "shown the door" as you say, will earn at least the same money as if they were still at the club.

It’s not $100,000 per player, it’s $200,000 maximum per club and it’s for 8 years at a club, not 10 years.

I think Heigno will have ESL value as he doesnt count as an import, that could be the move we make.
As you say happy, saying we should move him on is harsh, but the unfortunate reality is that our favourite players cant play for ever, and the time to move Heino on may have arrived

Seeing he is the best on the market he will get the high side of 425 K

I could see Heighno moving on, he has been great for the club but the last couple of years he just hasn't been at his best. Then Lote would also have to go.

I don't think he's worth 500k. I could see 325-350k with 3rd party arrangements. He was one of the few state/international reps and the marquee player at Penrith. If he wants to go to a competitive side he will need to share cap room with people like Gallen, Tupou from the Sharks, Benji and Robbie from us etc

He turns 29 shortly.

3 seasons im guessing. Playing in the backs early and moving to the forwards is thought to provide the longest career, obviously that fits Lewis, so statistically he should get to 31 or 32 playing decent footy.

4.4m for the top 25 players, effectively 4.2m + $200,000 veteran allowance (Continuous service in grade of 8 years, includes Toyota Cup and NSW cup)
Marquee player allowance of $300,000 per club (payments made by club sponsors seeking to use a player’s intellectual property, capped per player)
Individual player’s third party payments not involving club has no limit
All other players outside the top 25 who play NRL must fit under the $350,000 second tier cap
Minimum wage as of 2011 is $60,000 (top 17 player), $55,000 (players 18-25)

Toyota Cup Salary cap of $250,000 for eligible top 20 players not in the NRL top 25 cap
Additional $50,000 second tier for eligible players outside the top 20
Additional $30,000 per club for school fees
Additional up to $10,400 per player per year living away from home allowance.
