Who Is The Real Benji Marshall

No quotes, no sources other than some vague references to senior players at other clubs and apparently always taking the piss out of Freddy on the footy show. If this article was a post on here it would b deleted. Just editorializing and character assassination. Oh and a nice promo for benji's book- thanks Andrew.

Yeah benji probably isn't as close to Robbie as he is/was to moltzen or prince, but the fact is we all know Robbie had his chance to leave and he sure didn't stay for the money.
All the telegraph has done is continued to alienate itself from the most marketable sporting team in western Sydney.

They continually run with the story that benji polarizes opinion but surprise surprise the ones who supposedly can't stand him are the defenders he embarrasses with spectacular monotony every weekend. The ironic part is that journalists from the telegraph are giving out PR advice to anyone, let alone the most watched player in our game.

I hope rothfield and his mates weren't too upset by benji's arrogance on Th defence stand because imagine how arrogant he's gonna be when the telegraph gets sued for libel.

On the benji farah thing. Robbie did a interview on bugling sports saying it is his biggest lie he reads in the paper. That they have being playing nine years with each other so there must be something there. He went on to say that the whole team was like brothers. I don't know about everyone else but I don't get along with my siblings some times but always the first to offer them help.

Benji vs Robbie sounds like complete b/s. Whilst they probably aren't best mates, I'm sure they get along just fine.

As for him and freddy bantering each other, isn't that the whole nature of the footy show? Everyone gets stuck into everyone.
 
i was only thinking during the week i wonder what story this rag is going to come up with about us this week to try and take our focus off embarrassing rothfields pathetic sharks. this article has rothfields slime written all over it. i cant wait till we win the gf and the club does not allow a single terrorgraph reporter inside the sheds after fulltime. i would love gibbsy to put one on rothfields chin!
 
how can this not be classed as slander? its the second article in 2 weeks this grub has thrown Marshall's name through the mud, accusing him of being hated by fellow players.

i wanted to be a journo in high school, and i think not going down that path was the best decision i ever made, because it made me not have to sell my soul, and saved me from being an embarrassment to myself and my family.

Hahaha! It's obviously really ticking the DT off that the world's best RL player will rarely give them the time of day, so out comes a spate of articles questioning his character/personality. Childish stuff! They really need to move on and start positively promoting the game (and it's players) that they claim to love!

Andrew Webster? Isn't he the bloke that sometimes turns up on that Monday/Thursday night footy show on One HD? Decent show that, surprised they would have a flaky journalist, such as this guy, on.

Seriously journos need to pull their heads in. If a kid bullies another kid and it gets picked up by the paper they label it disgraceful and a reflection on society, yet the same papers have no problem bullying people and in this case benji when they write crap line this!!

Leave them alone. Their humans, not saints. So unless u wanna watch a bunch of nuns or priests playing the game, the papers need to shut the F up!!!

Journalists are employed to sell newspapers and create discussion.Webster has certainly done that.

if its not controversial,he doesn't get a column.

its exactly the same with talk back radio.if they don't say anything debatable,no one calls up or listens.

The Daily Telegraph has a monopoly on n s w media.its sold everywhere,is a handy size and basically,can write what it likes.

We need the sun back for ethical competition.But that aint gunna happen.
 
For the record, the story was checked off with The Daily Telegraph's court reporter before it was filed.

That's the biggest crock of shit. If a hack needs to defend themselves via the claim that what they wrote wasn't technically libellous, well, it a very, very low standard of quality. It's basically the same as being a builder who says "lots of people have told me my work is shoddy, below par and borderline fraudulent - well I got a surveyor to drive past the last house I built yesterday and it hadn't actually fallen down".

I'm a journalist myself (totally unrelated field - suffice to say the kind of filth these people propagate is shameful to the trade) and my immediate response to the first article this tosser wrote was "the not guilty plea means he can't say what he wants to so he's produced this nasty bit of insinuation and suggestion that attempts to smear Marshall's reputation without any actual accusations - which would be libellous".

The problem is people who read this rubbish without knowing any better and allow it to form the basis of their perceptions.

**Can we try to get a Telegraph boycott started**? Spread the word among league fans, get mates to put it on their clubs' forums. The only thing in it worth seeing is transfer stuff and all that's available online/on Twitter anyway nowadays (in fact most of it is rubbish culled off forums anyway) - otherwise it's just match reports written at five year old level, gossip about gangsters, muck raking dribble and anti-government propaganda.

Hit the scumbags in the back pocket I say.
