Who Should We Sign For 2013 ??

So, let me get this straight - instead of buying a genuine halfback, YET AGAIN, we buy a five eighth, come lock to fill the halfback role for us next year. 😕 I think we've tried this before, have we not? With little success. I realise Anasta is a cut above any of our former manufactured halfbacks (Morris, Moltzen and even Benji in the role), but has he actually ever played halfback during his lengthy career?

Fwiw, I would love to see us throw the cheque book at Peter Wallace - he really knows how to steer a team around the park and would be the perfect yin to Benji's yang, so to speak. Just a thought.

Theres not many out there as they don't grow on trees unfortunatley. We missed our chance at the start of the yr when Peter Wallace and Luke Walsh were both off-contract. One of those guys would have been the perfect foil for Benji :brick:
 
Well looking through our squad

FB - Tedesco, Moltzen may be resigned, Simona (could be a smokey)
W- Beau Ryan, Marika Koribete, David Noafoluma , also option of using Reddy their as well
C- Lawrence, Ayshford, Reddy- Covered
FE - Benji, Sironen,
HB - Humble, Anasta - I think Anasta will fit our team well (although as above Peter Wallace would have been perfect
Back Row - Fulton, Hiehington, Murdoch masiala, Blair, Sironen
Props - Galloway, Woods, Groat, Bell (could also play backrow), Cashmere- Happy with these
Hooker - Robbie

I think the key area for signing next year is another backrower

I think our backs will be fine with some real talent coming through the 20s

Given we will be letting Lote and Ellis leave and anasta couldnt have been on that much coin then we have the following available in the backrow
Tony - could be out of our price range I would think
Sonny Bill Williams - As above and likely already signed to roosters
Aiden Guerra - My pick and has been rumoured
Ben Teo - Extiger but dont think we want him back ever
Zeb Taia - Could be a good choice especially as Scott is going to Knights next year
Frank Pritchard - An option but prob not consisten enough for my liking

So 1 backrower is what I see us needing for next year- either Guerra or Taia and resign Bell and mayby Moltzen as a utility

Sheens has a history of signing players who tear us up but arent nessecarily that way every game so could be a smokey or 2
 
Kane Evans, Tom burgess, wade graham. No egos and great depth.

Love to see our up and coming outside backs get a go instead of lote or utai

We need to look at quality for money Proven performers who show up every week , not fair weather guys who look great when we win by 30 and go MIA the minute we get stuck in against real opposition
 
Miller had very good game in the Origin match he should be given at least a season to prove himself with Humble as an excellent backup

We should only enter the market is a top class player becomes available and then only if we can afford him

We won't be getting anybody unless we get rid of a few players - the reason we didn't get Mason was we couldn't afford to backend his contract next year.

We apparently missed out signing BJ Leilua and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves from Easts. Two very good signings IMO.

Ellis has asked to leave one year early.

With in fighting rumours and Sheen's known to play favourites, the lack of success with Adam Blair do you think we will struggle to attract any other big names in 2013 besides Braith?

I think we need a quality second rower and Prop for 2013\. Happy if we secure the services of Aiden Guerra and Mitchell Dodds.

I expect Moors, Lote and Utai to leave at the end of the year.

was at a pub probably about 2 years ago and asotasi and pettybourne were there…asked them 2 questions...whos the biggest douche bag..they both said ennis with flying colours and suprisingly they both said hickey was they hardest bloke to tackle...apparently hes a bohemath of a man....

Why would lote leave? lol, he plays 80 mins everygame and he is the crappest on the team, who would want him?
 
Sika Manu, would be great cause he can offload to a support player like Marshall or moltzen

Start looking for a new winger, can't see lote playing in 2014, not sure who's off contract? Everingham, michael gordon, Steve turner, Matt duffle?
