Who will make NRL?

First I have to say I have not watched as much NYC this year as I did last year.

Watching last year in my opinion the three guys that stood out as future NRL players were: Lui, A. Fifita and Woods. Two have already played NRL. Last year I was also impressed with Hyland work rate.

So my question is for all the people who regularly watch NYC is who from this years squad will make NRL?

I like the way Finau plays on the wing, good speed, hits the line hard and fights hard in tackles, he's one to kee an eye IMO. Mullaney goes well at the moment but is a long way off FG yet. He needs to do what Lachlan Coote did and put on 10kg of muscle. Aaron Woods, Neil Begovich and Ben Murdoch will all play FG IMO. Woods in particular I am keen to see develop. He's got the makings of a very dominant front rower. Junior Roqica is still very young and looks a bit lazy still, but if he improves his discipline and work ethic he will probably play FG too. Oh, Matt Hyland will also make it given how hard he works.

what is all the fuss about hyland?

you can go to any park football team anywhere in nsw/qld and find blokes who do the job he does.

he has ZERO impact in attack and drops a lot of ball. in the foundation cup trial he missed two tackles that lead directly to tries. i dont think he is even state cup standard.

You haven't watched a lot of the 20's this year have you?

Hyland has always been touted as the next big thing throughout the junior ranks.

Time will tell though

no I haven't, however I saw enough the previous 2 years in order to form an accurate opinion. Please tell which part of my assessment is wrong?

But it would be up to the Magpies starting pack of Duan Poaneki, Chris Corby, Andrew Hearn, Jamie Sharkie, Josh Davis, and Nu Akeripa to absorb the early blows, and **they did so magnificently.**

Chris Corby stepped up, no longer just content with grabbing the two pointers the Magpies No.9 hit the line hard from a dummy half scoot, barging over to give us the final score of 32 – 22\. His conversion was unsuccessful but the Magpie supporter’s celebrations were jubilant.

The Black and Whites ended their point scoring spree when hooker Chris Corby supported a 40m Ben Falcone break. Best for Wests were George Keppa with a five star fullback performance, Nathan Waters with a dominant halfback display, and busy hooker Chris Corby.

Best for the Magpies were captain Nathan Waters who had a hand in everything good Wests did, Second Rower Dean Rysko with his customary huge workload in attack and defence, and Hooker Chris Corby **who was smart around the rucks in attack and kept things tight up the middle in defence.**

Nah mate…..Tommy and I were discussing our opinions of Chris Corby this year for the Pies...since he's maybe making his debut in the NRL if Robbie was out.....

Tomcat says going Ok

I say he's doing better than alright.......

Independent sources have him in the best for the Magpies 5 out of 6 weeks....Tommy has been to all the games though I haven't......

I think Hyland has the ability but I can't see him playing NRL this year; backrow is our strongest position. I still think he will make it into our top squad next year.

I am certain that Aaron Woods is very well regarded by the club. Might be one of the reasons the other Fifita is going; you can't keep them all.

From what I have seen this year I like the looks of Ben Murdoch and Finau.
