Who would be your Top 3 Realistic candidates to coach us

1.Bellamy- i cant see him leaving melbourne for concord.if he moves it will only be to warriors
2.Rick Stone -i see as realistic option.Who did a great job with a inferior knights team last season
3.Mick Potter-highly regarded maybe he could be another maguire

JT went well at parra and souths. Coach in waiting. Whoever signs him will solve a huge part of the jig saw. Others I'd like to see are Anderson, Folkes or Hasler.

bring back Billy Johnstone for the Pre-Season!!!

and Steve Nance

They can both start Monday the 3rd and smash these sooks until the Monday after GF

If these blokes don't like it (as I said in another thread) ring your managers and find another club as far as I am concerned

Weed the pretenders out ,I only want blokes who will kill and die for the club every week no questions asked and actually have some pride in their performances

Happy Tiger is gone , Extremely Bitter and Cranky Tiger has arrived :smiling_imp:

I'm fond of the idea of having Hagan involved in some way. A hagan and folkes pairing would be awesome.

I'd have no problems with Anderson or Potter having a crack too. It doesn't matter who it is. We just need someone different calling the shots. 10 years is a very long time in rugby league.

I would have Steve Folkes, Daniel Anderson, Michael Hagan or Mick Potter.

The Dragons are a mess at the moment. They need a huge clean out and have no structure set up for next year, especially with their 1, 6, 7, 9\. I can definitely see Steve Price getting the flick and Folkes moving up to Head Coach there if things don't improve early in 2013 (although I think Sheens would be suited to that rebuilding role that they need).

Daniel Anderson moved out of the coaching business and into the media after his dumping from Parra, so I'm not really sure if he's that keen to get back to coaching? In saying that, you can hear from his comments on radio that the guy knows his stuff. I'd love to see him at the club.

Michael Hagan has been the footy mind behind the QLD Origin team. Is he happy being involved for 6 weeks a year? Like Anderson, is he content with that back seat role? He's more likely to come here than Anderson IMO as he's still in the coaching side of things, it's just a matter of whether he wants the full on grind of a head coach role again. If I remember correctly he was suffering from poor health when he was coaching at Parramatta and/or Newcastle. May not be up for a full-time gig.

Mick Potter is a well-qualified coach who has still performed with Bradford in what's been a tough year. They went in to administration in July, yet still remain in the Top 8 and in contention for the finals. Could be on shaky ground come the end of this ESL season and may be looking for something more stable if the financial situation isn't sorted out. I read somewhere he is not being paid by the club at the moment as they can't afford it, yet he's stayed on free of charge to see out the season. That to me says he's a decent guy, too.

I feel some of you think the Head Coach actualy does the coaching… The good Head Coaches do very litte coaching and are mainly Managers of the Operation/Structure.

I dont think Folkes is a suitable option... He should only be considered as an Assistant Coach due to his lack of people management skills. Its pretty obvious since he left our Defence is pathetic and I'm of the opinion the first coach punted should be Georgalis.

Daniel Anderson appears to be a good Coach, but he has never been able to manage his boards or external influences at the clubs he has been at. With this being the case, he will be on a flogging to none at the Wests Tigers and should be ruled out. Would be a great Assistant Coach, but I dont think this is his desire.

I like what I see in Mick Potter... He appears to be a guy who has full control and has a wealth of knowledge of the game of Rugby League. He is the kind of mentor who would be able to bring new ideas to the club, along with having the ability to manage some of the egos we have in the playing group and off it.

I'd like to see the following structure implemented at the Wests Tigers:

Head Coach - Mick Potter
Assit Coach - Michael Hagan (Game Plans & Offence)
Assit Coach - Steve Folkes (Fitness/Rehab/Defence)
Head Trainer - Todd Payten

x 2 watto, 😛ray: . michael hagan would bring plenty to the tigers. he was given no support by the parra board when there were significant issues with some eels players who at the time were having big time dummy spits at hagans laying down of a few home truths, mateo, inu etc

Like it or not you need a coach with a profile simple to attract players as Watto said most head coaches are people managers. They are also the link between the club, the players and the player agents. So you need a person who has strong people skills. The trick is getting the right people to fill the other rolls.

If Sheens could step back a little from the coaching role and allow the club to get say Folkes and Hagan in maybe it could work. With Sheens being the bloke who over sees the operation. Would save a bundle in a payout claim

People on here are dead set kidding themselves, Michael Hagan has the personality of a dead fly, a dreadful coach. My vote would be for Peter Gentle, Tony Smith (great bloke no where as intense or as loose as his brother) or Mick Potter but in reality there will be no changes.

I want one of the new breed …out with the old in with the new time to move on ...the NRL has moved on most of the old brigade haven't and I want Sheens to have nothing more to do with the club just walk out the door goodbye.

ME, I WOULD START WITH A HUGE CLEAN OUT ON AND OF THE PITCH. WOULD HAVE A TWO YEAR PLAN WITH YOUTH, OUR OWN AND LOOK TO BRING IN OTHER TALENTED YOUTH FROM ACROSS THE NRL.AND I DOUBT IF I COULD ANY WORST THAN SHEENS HAS BEEN.

VOTE 1 FOR BP TIGER.

it's not about cleaning out or rebuildiing, it's about instilling some consistency, passion, aggression and attitude in the team and making them play to their potential CONSISTENTLY.

And the man/men currently there can't do it. Proven.

Apart from the fact you cant count, why on earth do you consider Gentle the top of the pops?

1\. Anderson
2\. Folkes
3\. Taylor

And if By some miracle we could get Bellamy I would be happy

I am at a loss why people are keen on JT. I'd want someone with a better record. I think would prefer Roycey over him (and that is saying something).

Anderson would be mu pick. He was treated rather shabbily at Parramatta becuase he was hired by the former administration.

I think Michael Maguire is looking like he has the right stuff to develop into a top line coach.
