Why are downvotes limited?

I explained it the first post "There are many people on this forum that it is pointless to argue with, no facts or evidence will sway them."

It is not my job to prove a post is wrong. I don't have the patience of @jirskyr, he carefully explains why he disagrees with a post, spends his time providing evidence and making a reasoned argument and the next day the original poster will restate their original claim.

The same people post the same rubbish every day on this forum, so it ends up looking like the truth. There are many unfounded rumours that the majority of this forum believe just because it has been posted so many times it has become the truth. Downvoting is a quick, easy way of saying that I don't agree with a post. Why is that bad?

There is no limit on upvotes, are they different somehow?

I can post that a player, coach or member of Tigers management is puke a thousand times, there is no limit on spamming an opinion.

Why can't I butt in for ...Can't anyone give an opposing argument to your posts ...you can't have it both ways ..you can't rebutt people and then be a protected species and not have someone oppose your opinion

You can post whatever you like, but if you are deliberately misrepresenting a previous post for arguments sake I am not going to engage with you.

As it is everyone's right to be a negative nelly or positive pollyanna ...and if you don't back up your differing opinion you aren't going to change anyone's mind

And if a Mod wants to bring up cats ...good luck to them ..they put a helluva lot of time in keeping the Forum normal and sane

If what you are saying is correct, the forum rules should be changed to reflect that. The rules about abusing players and officials should be removed. The rules about hijacking threads should be removed.
