im already a member there, like i said before i get around im not a one forum kinda guy

dude, who are you? You came to this forum 3 months ago, 3 months later your trying to tell the mods they're 'uptight'.

Why start such a thread, if you know the mods are gonna react in a way which condemns your behaviour?

ive been a member since day 1, and i made this thread to get answers on the following:

1) why certain people get to say what they want with out reprecussions as compare to others

2) why it has to be so black and white and no grey area, threads get locked prematurely because 2-3 people get into a discussion that isnt directly related to topic, when its just the natural course of a thread discussion

3) is it mods discretion of why posts that are found to be offensive to be deleted or are all posts that are reported as offensive deleted. Like i could report your post for insulting me by asking who i am when you know exactly who i am, and that offended me (example only)

you can hate on me all you want but atleast i bring a bit of diversity to this forum and try to bring a bit of humour and objective discussion, so i rattle a few cages, ruffle a few feathers who cares, if we all had the same views and opinions then this would be a very boring place.

'try to bring a bit of humour'? Ha ha saying that is humour within itself, more humorous than anything else i've heard you say.

Diversity? Lol, every thread i read you've said just about what every other person on this forum has said, just with that little bit of rb controversy mixed inside. You're opinion is no different, just you like to think it is. For example,

1) one of many on this forum that think bryce gibbs is a potential soo player

2) one of many that want sheens sacked

3) one of many that blame the coach instead of the blokes actually playing the football match.

'a member since day 1' bullshit, that's why it says 'joined; 04 feb 2010" lol. You jumped on this forum with the intentions of just ruining every thread for everyone, just so your opinion could be heard

I'll try and answer this.

1) why certain people get to say what they want with out reprecussions as compare to others
It's hard to answer this without an example.
If you are implying that the mods are targeting you then you are probably correct, but the reason for that would be because you've continuously been the instigator of arguments or threads that have had to be closed. In a way I guess it's your own doing.
There is a simple way to fix this: stop hijacking threads, stop blasting the mods and stop your crazy idea that any amount of complaining will change the way this forum is run. This isn't a democracy.

2) why it has to be so black and white and no grey area, threads get locked prematurely because 2-3 people get into a discussion that isnt directly related to topic, when its just the natural course of a thread discussion
if you want to start a thread about something or if you a specific section to be broken off, posting something along the lines of "hey mods, can you split this topic off into the general discussion area". I'd happily do that for you.

3) is it mods discretion of why posts that are found to be offensive to be deleted or are all posts that are reported as offensive deleted. like i could report your post for insulting me by asking who i am when you know exactly who i am, and that offended me (example only)
mixed. If something needs being deleted then they will delete it (eg, abuse, swearing, vilification). However if a thread is a bit iffy we start a discussion about it until we come to a consensus on how to best proceed.

again though, if you arn't happy with the fact that you can't post everything that you want to post then do what we did and start your own forum.
A host costs anywhere from $100 a month upwards but you can install phpbb for free. Then you'll have your own forum where you post at will.

And for those of us who have forgotten….That was Lote Tuqiri day.......

Go Lortay.....sorry cc...

@ citizen cub - The point of a forum is discussions right? for opinions to be heard? and i have been a member since day one, ask kul.

@kul if you want to see what im talking about in regards to point 1 look at the "tony williams drink driving thread" in the NRL section, and seriously tell me that double standards dont apply.

with point 2 you are missing the point, although a thread starts out one way contradicting opinions often cause the thread and opinions to take a different course then the oringinal intention.. like this one for example. i dont see the point in locking threads because 60 posts in and its not on the same initial discussion.

i like this forum and i do try to stoke the fire a bit but so do alot of others on here, guess the thing thats got me a bit bemused is how i can be giving a warning for saying 'i hooked up" with a chick on the weekend, when IMO i didnt break any rules, i didnt swear i didnt abuse i didnt make a racial slur i never attacked anyone personally, i just cant see how that can be given as a warning when worse stuff gets said on here everyday

thanks for replying anyway

Maybe we should all go on strike….that'll really stick it to the man eh, ron?

Interesting topic. I look forward to the next installment.

The admins on this forum seem to be more laid back and easy going compared to the previous management … :sunglasses:

Lol.

Strikes…so romantic.

Good times

If you must know Ron my journey to become a moderator began in my youth

I began as a prodigious toddler whose finger paintings and xylophone recitals bought crowds from tens of metres away just to gaze upon my work or listen to my compositions. At the age of 5 I received the greatest compliment a performance artist could receive. Reg Livermore told me I was a hack. Coming from someone who sits slightly above Daryl Sommers on the rungs of pathetic has beens this meant my future was a bright one indeed.

It was however at the age of 7 that I came across what I believed was my true calling in life.

Writing screenplays.

Drawing from my vast experiences in life up until that point I recounted a tale of intrigue and plot revelation the likes of which that had not been witnessed. My agent and I began our journey to film Mecca of Hollywood. Our original attempt at a Pacific crossing was thwarted due o the fact my manager was, in actuality, an imbecile who tried to get us there in his Austin 1100\. Six months and two managers later I steamed my way across the expanse of ocean to [This word has been automatically removed] my script.

The script naturally sold very quickly and 17 months later my masterpiece was in celluloid making it’s World Premiere. Unfortunately the editing and direction had not been kind to my masterpiece. They turned an epic tale of intrigue into a buddy comedy and called it The Goonies. This film shattered not only my confidence but the careers of many an actor involved. The strange thing is that two of them have since emigrated to this fine country of ours and, in turn, began following the Wests Tigers joint venture partner clubs and eventually our great team. They even post on this forum. Jeff Cohen you know better as former Alien. Jonathan Ke Quan you know as Crouching Tiger.

After the debacle that was “The Goonies” I sought my revenge on Richard Donner and his cronies. It got me blacklisted in the movie game and they credited the film script to Spielberg.

After this I filled time and made money where I could even sinking so low as being an extra of Wings.

It was during my convalescence however that I discovered another great talent. Playing the Bongo Drums. I was so good that I was spotted by a quite mad Brian Wilson who, after he stopped trying to pierce my skull with banana juice for 3 long hours, let me collaborate with him.

The result Kokomo. I thought I had it made until that thieving rapscallion John Stamos horned his way in to the video clip whilst I was holidaying with Drew Barrymore.

More heartbreak ensued.

But that story is for another time and will lead up to the moment when I became a moderator on the Wests Tigers Forum

but if you were 7 during that time then i would have been younger. Chunk was older than 7 in that movie.

So you claim.

Alien there are some things in all of our lives we would like to distance ourselves from but you cannot truly grow until you embrace them as part of who you are. You made good money out of it. Sure it wasn't as intellectually stimulating as your guest spot on "The Facts Of Life" but that is Donners fault. My script said nothing of a truffle shuffle.

We all have skeletons. For instance I erased entire pages of the script to Star Wars Episode one to the point where the plot was just terrible and the dialogue made no sense in the context of the later films

What's with this capital letter filter thing??? I can't even write 'i' in capitals.
