Why are we so inconsistent?

A lot of poor recruiting

Look at most other sides they have strong ,consistant performers who might have the occasional off day but generally are solid

You can't say the same thing about the Tigers We as a team are flat track bullies

Tigers in the past are like that scene from "White Men Can't Jump" when Woody Harrelson says to Wesley Snipes that he wants to look pretty first and win second Thats us to a T

If you are going to start a thread by posing a serious question at least give it some serious thought rather than starting it by dribbling. Why do you think we r inconsistent?

I think it is the team as a whole and not really that relevant. I think the question should be what will make us a better footy team.

For instance Benji (Robbie does as well) comes up with some poor plays at times but does that really make us inconsistent. I think if we had a big pack of forwards that were consistent in going forward and busting the line as well as defending hard we would be a much better footy team.

To add to that we have had slow outside backs. Ayshford/Utai/Reddy/Tuqiri aren't exactly speed demons.

I like the forwards that Potter has picked this week. Playing Braith and Fulton in the second row to me is madness. Getting rid of Braith fixes that issue. I think if we get Koro back, Lawrence gets into some form and we get some more speed on the other side of the field we will look better.

After we fix those issues we have to somehow get players to not make mistakes at critical times. Koro for instance misses bombs cold. Tedesco did the other day as well. We need those mistakes to be minimised and that would make us more consistent. I just don't think it will help us if we are more consistent but we are slow out wide and lacking size in the forwards.

Some say 05 was a fluke. We are inconsistent but we seem to be a team of experimenting. 2010 & 2011 saw some good season performances but nada since then.

Benji isnt the reason..Even when Benji plays poorly he usually puts on a couple of tries…How about we dont have a halfback, our props have a combined age of 42 and there are 5 or 6 guys in career worst form?

I'm not being smart or nothing but what is the point of this thread , this has been discussed time over again
1\. New coach and ideas being brought in
2\. young players with lack of experience
3.injuries to key players that have cost us , last year and this year
4.Potter having to try and fix some of Sheenious problems
5.Disillusioned players amongst our squad in seeing players gone (Gibbs, Fifita,Heigno, Ryan ) while 2 of them had contracts.
6.Potter having to play players he didn't have a say and were here already
There you go not hard to work out some reasons . Please don't tell me you thought we were a top 4 team or something :unamused:

oh let the youngens play - afterall all their questions will be/ should be answered by the forum. They are curious & they love Wests Tigers with a passion. They belong here. In a funny way. They have more questions than answers.

How bout Benji is both half back & five eight?
Benji does everything.
Off course somethings gonna come off.
But when Benji's not on we rarely win.
In the real world the team revolves around Benji.
But that will change with Potter i.e Miller to state cup

And it was the same last year as well. To be a consistent team you need to be better than most we are not.

I agree. You can't be consistent unless you are a top team and that takes top personnel. I think we can put a good team on the park but until we get a dominant pack every week, fast outside backs and players all over the park that are good defensively then we will always be an inconsistent team.

Mental Toughness. This helps being consistent. Wood and Farah are both stron mentally and physically. Look at cooper cronk, not the razzle dazzle like Benji, but week in week out consistent. He knows what he has to do each game, pull his finger out and does it. If he makes break or scores a try, so be it, but has the team and the stratergy as number 1\. Again, Mental Toughness, Wests Tigers lack this and we are still living on our 2005 victory.

Changes to team personnel has a lot to do with it, but we also have our share of inconsistent performers (Moltzen, Benji, Blair are the worst offenders but Ayshford…is not up to it). Lets hope Potter addresses this.

I am confident...he has righted the ship and it is turning in the right direction.
