Why is there so much Pessimism

Why is there so much pessimism on this site ??
Yes, there have been problems for the last few years, but nothing that couldn't have been fixed reasonably quickly with salary cap space.
Personally I'm seeing plenty of "Blue Sky" ahead. In the last two weeks suddenly, I constantly hear and read the Tigers are out there in the market place chasing players from all sources.
The likelihood of a very well respected coach joining the club. And if Ivan Cleary does join always remember why he lost his last gig, somebody had to be the scapegoat for others and their 5 year plan.
A well-respected individual like Kelly Egan joining the club late last year, give him a chance to do his job. Same goes for Justin Pascoe, who has been the only shining light in this club for the last 12 months.
Tedesco won't leave this club, if he gets the opportunity to sit down with the new head coach, has explained to him, his vision, recruitment plans.

It's because we haven't won for a couple of weeks. As soon as we win again, everyone will have a smile on their face and talk up our premiership chances.

Because we have made the finals 3 times in 17 years. It's very hard to stay positive when we've finished in the top half of the competition 17.6% of the time.

I went to my doctor the other day to get some Zoloft ..he asked what the problem was and I said I was a Tigers supporter so he recommend the maximum strength!

Where have you been over the last 16 years. If you think a higher salary will fix this club , you must be a new supporter
Yes Cleary is a good move if it comes off. But don't get excited because we are chasing some players, do that when we actually sign some quality players( about half a team of them.
Talk means nothing here, as history shows.but it's nice to see some new members on the forum,

 , did it work ,and where can I get some

The club is at a crossroads. Cleary if he accepts the job is a very good start.
We run the real possibility of a full rebuild without our best players and a NSW Cup and U20s side that are all poor. We won't have 1st world facilities until 2018 and have seen the demise of Balmain over recent times.

If you look at things in a positive light we should have a new competent coach (Cleary) resign our best players, new facilities in 2018, plenty of cap room and sign new players (McQueen, Whare, Matulino etc.) and come home with a wet sail and challenge for a finals spot this year and more likely next year.

My opinion is the odds are stacked against us retaining our best players but with Cleary at least we have the man to rebuild the roster. The media bs is going too far the reality is the balls are in the air and no decisions for the players have been made.

I would like to think that after the sacrifices the club has made to retain the group if the money is right and Cleary is coach they will stay at WT. Everyone has the right to choose their employer and career path but there comes a time when you have to repay the faith. These guys have been overpaid for years on potential and should take this into account.

I can see where the OP is coming from.
There was a thread a week or two back asking if we were excited with the prospect of change. I was not.

With Cleary coming aboard, and real change on the horizon, I very much am excited now.

My beef is, we keep getting new coaches, getting new three year plans and ending back at square one. Nothing ever seems to change. I guess if Cleary gets the gig thats a good step in the right directions, but gee I hope we are not saying the same thing in three years time about another coach

To be fair this is basically how it goes. The club did the right thing in sacking Taylor but I think they shouldn't have backed him when it comes to Robbie and they should have let him go at the end of last year. They probably didn't want to do this because it comes across as Robbie running the club.

I think the 3 or 5 year plans aren't even worth bothering with. It's about making good decisions regularly and then you end up in a good position. We had a coach who made a lot of poor decisions.

I think we are actually in a good position but we need some positive news including winning a couple of games.

Its the weather, all this rain, 1 win from 4, two shellackings, no coach, last place on the ladder, teddy and woods talking nonsense, soon no more Holden's, take you pick.

I think we will be fine, I'm sick of these bad news stories and rumours as well, but what did we expect when we have 4 key positional players off contract and we sack our coach in the 3rd week.

Cheer up guys its onwards an upwards from here.

Being the laughing stock of the NRL may have something to do with it, along with being a graveyard for coaches, a reputation for developing young players or buying ones with potential and then releasing said players as soon as they show some form and for also paying overs for highly over rated players. Oh, nearly forgot, throw in a completely dysfunctional administration and board and you may start to see where the pessimism starts to creep in. Let's hope the signing of Cleary starts something positive within the organisation, god knows, we need it.

Says it all.

Probably because all 3 grades are going terrible. NRL haven't scored after halftime for 3 weeks in a row, Reserve grade haven't won a game and NYC have been smashed three weeks in a row. We've sacked our coach and supposedly one of our best prospects just got released to go to Manly. Our best two players remain unsigned, both of our halves could be leaving. I mean it's hardly causd for optimism right now? Sure things can change pretty quick but right now it's not looking great.

Dont be so optimistic it could be worse we might extend Kevie and Rankins contract for 5 years then we could all have a good whinge.
