Fox just confirmed Gareth has suffered a dislocation of his hip.
Similar it appears to Rowdys, its incredible how much more intense the game is now, after experts were saying when Rowdy did his they had only seen them occur in car accidents and the like.
Get well soon Gareth.

looked pretty innocuous too. Kelly landed on his upper thigh from behind and at the wrong angle.
Looked like he was in serious pain though.
Poor kid, hopefully it heals quicker and cleaner than Chris' did.

Terrible injury to the kid. He just signed to the dragons. Does this mean they can cancel his contract or would it be registered already.

I like Widdop, a talented young fella and a Pom who was willing to test his mettle in the NRL, shame to see another player cop an injury like this.

Feel bad for him but he will never be the same again. And the dragons major buy for next season :s

Are you SERIOUS? Do you want to have a rethink on that?

I hope it wasn't meant as it was written…

These types if injuries are never one if the injuries where the club hopes doesn't take to long. This injury is one of the most server and can be life threatening.

When Rowdy did his, medical staff didn't worry bout a possible Return but if not looked after can be life threatening. The main blood supply runs directly up the hip. If not treated correctly. Player can be in trouble. Rowdy not only was lucky to walk but lucky to play again. He is very lucky.

I don't think it was intended to be intepreted as it has been.

I would hope both the Storm and Dragons look after him and help him try to return to his peak.

Really feel for Widdop. Having seen the consequences for Lawry. It's a hell of a long way back to where he was say this time yesterday morning. Like Lawry, there wasn't much in the tackle. Just a freak injury.

Why would anyone give a crap about this guy?

He robbed us of the nyc grand final in 2009 by blatantly cheating.

He plays for Melbourne!

He's English!

Those 3 factors have him waaaaay down on my pecking order about players from other NRL teams.

Sure, I don't want to see players get injured, but the fact that he did doesn't concern me in the slightest and I couldn't care less if or when he get's back to fitness.

I'm guessing people care because as fans we understand the hardwork ahead for him to get back on the field. I'm guessing just basic human decency is lost on you.
