Widdop suffers a similar dislication to rowdy.

Why would anyone give a crap about this guy?

He robbed us of the nyc grand final in 2009 by blatantly cheating.

He plays for Melbourne!

He's English!

Those 3 factors have him waaaaay down on my pecking order about players from other NRL teams.

Sure, I don't want to see players get injured, but the fact that he did doesn't concern me in the slightest and I couldn't care less if or when he get's back to fitness.

What a tasteful comment… :unamused:

com·pas·sion [kuhm-pash-uhn]

noun
1\. a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering.

After watching a similar injury cast doubts over Lawrence's career, I feel for the kid.

I don't feel compassion for a team, or a player who cheats. What's so wrong with that?

Melbourne are perhaps the dirtiest and scummiest club ever to play NRL. I hate them with a passion. While not the key instigator of this, Widdop has certainly has some dirt on his shoes and has cheated directly against us to win a final.

If Benny Barba pops a shoulder i'd feel some compassion. If David Klemmer tore his pecs off the bone, i'd have some compassion. For a Storm player there's nothing. The English thing is just an old rivalry, and the fact that i'm half Scottish.

Does every fan have to care and express his deep concern every time a player, young or old, goes down injured? Not by a longshot. Everyone has favourite players and clubs, even those who play for different teams. For every Widdop there's another guy playing in nsw cup or nyc who does the same thing, yet do we all send him flowers and get well soon tweets? Nope. Get over it.

No we don't have to all send well wishes every time a player gets injured. But sometimes we do it anyway.

If it upsets you so much, just ignore those comments? Maybe take your own advice and get over it?

Fair enough. You've nailed your colours to the mast and you're entitled to your opinion.

No they don't, but theres a difference between not expressing concern and well wishes and going out of your way to say you could care less about a guy who could easily have been crippled. If it doesn't bother you thats your business, no ones saying you have to show compassion, but at the same time you don't have to carry on like a moron all because you hate a football team. You're a class act.

My first reaction was "wow… Hope he is out this Saturday", but when I read the game reports this morning I realised how much it had change Chris and feel for the kid.

"Life-threatening" is a bit extreme IMO.

I suppose in reality an ingrown-toenail can be life-threatening also if left to infect the bloodstream.

Bad injury, injuries happen all the time in RL. Can't say I overly like Widdop but all the best to him in his recovery just the same.
