Continuously Talking a big game in the media to appease supporters, recognizing where you're going wrong yet never doing anything about it. I said the other day, the constant talk from our players reminds me of an alcoholic or drug addict, they say the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem, but whats the admission worth if you continue to relapse into bad habits?
Anyway, back to the point i was making, would it matter? It makes me wonder if Blair isn't the problem but instead his environment? To make a comparison look at Fifita. The guy has come along leaps and bounds and is being talked up as a potential Origin bolter. Haven't heard any reports of bad attitude, yet when he was here its all we ever heard. Apparently wasn't too popular with the rest of the squad, was he not part of the cliq? did what he say when he left about there being 2 dressing rooms have some truth to it? idk, but considering how tight the group are with each other you couldn't be surprised. I don't want to blame Potter cos these issues seemed to be there long before he arrived.
I believe the mateship and the ''brothers for life'' rubbish has been detrimental to the club. Sure its great to get along and be mates, but, at least to me they've taken it too far and its caused problems. Just look at Beau Ryan, supposedly loved the club to death and would bleed for it yet walked cos his best mate was getting shafted. Thats why this crap is a problem. I've never seen any other team before or since take their gf victory quite to the extremes that we did. Sure it would bring you closer but at the end of the day you still are just doing your job. They need to get through their heads they are professionals, not a pub team, and if someone isn't cutting it, they shouldn't be there regardless of who they are or the relationship they have with the rest of the squad.
The reason why i asked will it matter is cos of the culture problem within the squad. I fear whoever comes in, no matter who they are will blend in with the rest. My other fear is that this culture is going to be passed onto the next generation which would be a crime cos by all reports we have some of the best juniors in the game.
the club fired the coach
got rid of Beau, Gibbs, hino (big part of the boys club)
I think they agree that there was/is a issue and they are trying to fix it.
Im not sure if Potter is the man to drive this change, i havent seen enough players being held accountable for poor perfomances but given the injury toll he dosnt have much choice at the moment. Im fully expecting to battle the spoon this year, see a improvement nest season and have a team of FG hardened young guys in '15 that will be gunning for finals footy.
All i want to see for the rest of the season is underperforming fg players being dropped for someone that wants to have a go….no matter who the payer is.
And i absolutely cursed Mark Geyer when he predicted we would be spooners this year….!!!!

We wouldn't be coming last in the comp if we had no injuries. We do lack heart, spirit and guts though, the Melbourne game and the 2nd half of the Bronco's game are the only times we have displayed heart this year. It is pathetic.
