Well its hard to say if there been a better winger this year then lote and with the team being announced next sunday do you think lote will be named?

Morris from St George has been superb all season,& is also a left wing.Deserves to hold his spot.
Jarrod Hayne mite get a wing spot,Folau has claims, but neither are in Lotes form
He'll go close if he can play right wing

brett morris is a great finisher but he doesnt do the hard yards coming out of your own end like lote and defensively hes not on lotes level either.

id have

slater
lote
inglis
falou
hayne

as the backline

If the coach has any say he will be, not sure how much say Sheens has with the national side. On form he deserves to be ( he is the best winger in the NRL) and I hope he is selected as it will be a massive boost for him.

him and morris deserve it hands down.

but selectors are clueless, and put hayne somewhere where he has nearly no impact to what he does from fullback.

Morris has done nothing wrong, and has scored loads of tries this year, deserves to keep his spot
Hayne has had a few very strong games, mixed with some poor ones. If he performs well this weekend though, I think he'll keep his spot.

You have to remember Lote is getting to the end of his career. Selectors look at things like that when they pick a side.

you mean like price , civonceva & lockyer…

lote is younger than all of them and will be going strong for a few years yet

I cant see Lote making the team this early back from his stint in union. I think he has a much better chance of being selected at the end of the year after hes had some games for Queensland under his belt

He is probably the best winger running around at the moment, but the current incumbents are also playing good enough to keep thier spots. I suppose if they realise picking Hayne on the wing is a waste of time, Lote could easily handle switching sides with his experience allowing Morris to keep his spot.

I'd say he will be in the Qld Team, and by the end of the year, after he wins the Clive Churchill Medal in the Grand Final, he will be back in the Kangaroos Team…

They are in the side, Lote is out of the side. Once you're in there age becomes irrelevent, when they are looking for a replacement, they generally look at younger players.

Bennett had to shuffle players around out of position (he only had 17 fit players left), or use a player already in England. Either way the selection was a farce. Point here is, they aren't going to drop a young winger (Morris/Hayne) for a guy in his 30s, his only hope is if one of the gets injured.

first of all of all the coach was chris anderson not wayne bennett & there were fit players in the squad ( luke lewis , joel clinton & richard villasanti ), who were picked on tour but not used in any test . picking a 35yo semi retired player ahead of them is light years away from picking lote in this test team

lote is only just 30 , he's been around a while but he's hardly an old man

its all about picking people in form and lote is undoubtedly one of the form wingers in the comp.

hayne has been shown time and again to be caught out of position defensively

Was it Anderson? I thought Bennett was in charge then. I was also under the impression they were down to 17 fit players. Incumbancy plays a role in picking a rep side (otherwise we'd have 10 changes to the side every year), if the guys in the side are in good form, played well on the last tour and are available for selection, they will be selected every time. Brett Morris is probably the form winger in the comp this year, so he will certainly be selected again, while Hayne has had some very strong performances, and will probably get in. The question is "Will Lote be picked?" not "Would you pick Lote?" Will he be picked? probably not. Would I pick him? possibly.

Lote mostly played wing for Leicester Tigers in the Guinness Premiership, but was a revelation at outside centre. I would have him in either position. We miss him at Leicester!
