Will Lui get another chance?

Seriously? What do you guys reckon?

Not what you want, but do you think Sheensy will drop him?
Given he was finally yanked, I reckon Sheens would have said at half time, you got 10mins!

Could we see Miller recalled?

didnt lui pick up a bit of an injury? he might not be able to play. if lui cant play then moltzen should be halfback. moltzen should probably be halfback anyway

If Lui is dropped he will become one of a rare few that the Fonz has ever dropped in his 9 years at Wests.

I'd go Moltzen at 7\. Or if they wanna keep Moltz at 4 then I'd go for Magic Waters at 7.

i thought he came off as a result of his injury. If he isn't fit for next week u'd have to go with Moltzen, however i wouldn't mind seeing Miller given an oppurtunity.I'd go with Moltzen at 7,Simona into the centres and Miller onto the bench

I wouldn't drop Lui, yet. I'm a big fan but been most disspointed in his last month. Still, i'm keeping in mind his finals campaign last season where I thought he showed untaped promise. If Sheens did drop Lui, I would love to see him go with MIller, who I think has equal potential to be a future superstar.

Sheens has only ever dropped Ben Te'o and Daniel Fitzhenry if I remember. The rest of the players that became state cup regs were due to injury and having their positions usurped (O'Hara, Collis, Halatau). Robert Lui will never be dropped, nobody will be dropped.

Fair enough guys… so this thread's pointless hahaha

Also MacDougall this is why I was thinking... if Sheens hooked him... he won't see firstgrade next week...

If Lui can do something about his defence…his attack is good. Overall tho Moltzen is prob the guy for da 7\. We have a gr8 record with him @ half.

he hurt his arm about 20 mins in but didnt look comfortable after that

needs to tackle, and thats it - rest of his game is fine.

maybe he should take pointers from benji - he overcomes being a speed hump by tackling like a fox terrier - he's always up and in someones face.

pretty sure he was injured, not hooked. in attack he has looked ok but his defence is getting worse….

Nothing at all wrong with his attack.Unfortanetly the game is about both attack and defence and when your totaly useless in one of those aspects surely your position has to come into question.ATM Lui would be flat out trying to tackle an under 7's player

Benji's defence is simply amazing these days.
Yeh he misses some tackles, but seriously, which half doesn't?

how many times has there been half a break and Benji is there to clean it up ?
Even when he is isolated and there is a big guy running at him, he may not be able to put him down, but he stops him nonetheless.
World's best player. an almost complete player if he gets some of those kicks right.

Sorry, but as for Lui, shifting Ellis to the right worked later in the game, I reckon that should be the answer to Lui's defensive woes, however if that doesn't work, State Cup it is, we have 2 no.7's in the line. He should realise it by now.

Injured? Didn't notice….

I thought he was yanked because he was doing nothing.

Come on Kaiser - he was clearly injured just before Heighno got semi-knocked out for a second!

Mate - please watch the game before starting threads of this speculative nature!!!

His ball for our first try to Aysh was a pearler!!!

Of course he will… He is the best 7 at the club and his only problem is his commitment in defence. I don't care if our 6 & 7 can't tackle, and while they will get isolated from time to time, Sheens needs to put a better defender inside of him. Dwyer is part of the problem and I've noticed Lui rushes out of the line isolating himself. If anything, he should be sitting back and tucking in closer with a brilliant defender like Ellis. We will be able to cover ball runners if the choose to go around us...

Lui played great today. He lead the team up the park, our only problem was we dropped too much ball in the first 50min. If Sheens was hooking him, and is thinking of moving Moltzen to 7, he would've moved Tim there yesterday...

If anything, Miller will come in before Moltzen will wear the 7!

Lui is not at his best at the moment. I remember I was in a fiery debate last week with a couple of other forum members who were calling for him to be dropped. I think they've had the last laugh, because yesterday's defensive efforts showed no signs of improvement and were far below standard for a first-grader. I've really got to feel sorry for him, because I think he has confidence issues now with both his defence and attack, his attack hasn't been anywhere near his best either.

I'm a HUGE fan of Lui, ever since he shone during that South match where we got beaten by 50 last year. And from then to the last few weeks he has been our most consistent performing player and has played an integral role in our success since then. However, since about the Dragons game a few weeks back his defence has really cost us at vital times. The way Gasnier just strolled past him on the right side was embarrassing and shouldn't happen in first grade.

Maybe it's time to unleash Moltzen. He has been playing out of position all year and hasn't really been utilised as an attacking weapon in the backline. He is wasted at centre and to a lesser extent full-back and I believe Sheens should perhaps give him a go starting half-back and play Lui off the bench.

Agree 100%

In my opinion the only way Lui won't be picked if he is injured and if that is the case I for one would rather see Miller at halfback than Moltzen.
