Will Parra budge?

Hard to know how Parra will turn up for this game. They're obviously out of finals contention, but have still got alot to play for (avoiding the spoon) and if Gold Coast beat Canberra on Saturday, then Parra will, for the time being, be sitting in 16th with the spoon a real possibility.

You've also got to remember that Parra have almost toppled some of the best teams in the comp and have fallen short on the final hurdle. They could've easily beaten the Dragons, Storm and Manly (twice) and would be coming into these last few rounds with a huge shot of confidence. Lets also not discredit their last win, which was funnily enough against us. Although we were woeful, they weren't too bad that night.

I'm never confident against the Eels - especially when we're favourites. However, if we start the match well, I can't see them having much of a strike weapon to beat us. But like I said the start of the match will be vital - we need to make sure we're ontop early - quick play the balls, repeat sets, no stupid penalties will go a long way to us winning this match. Another good controlled game by Farah would help a lot as well. His form in the our last three games leading into the finals is going to be very important.

Remember last year when Luke Burt missed that penalty goal that ruled them out of finals contention? They will be out to avenge that by ensuring we do not finish in the Top 4\. They will come out all guns blazing.

I just think Wests Tigers need to worry about their own game. If we have a good completition rate and defend well then we will beat Parramatta.

lol i think last yr's game will be the last thing on their minds

i reckon if we were playing a side who had been beaten by 50 in their last 10 games, someone would still be here posting that they are nervous
instead of thinking that Parra might turn up coz they want to avoid the spoon, have you thought the Tigers may also turn up coz they have a chance to finish in the top 4?
i think a team playing for a spot in the 4 have a lil more to play for then a team trying to avoid the spoon

Parra are no chance. The Tigers have too much to play for if the Dragons, Cowboys, and even the Warriors lose. They are too focused atm. I guess we better hope the Titans get beat coz we wouldn't want Parra to come out with any extra motivation lol. That lightning fast back line might tear us to shreds

I'd agree with your sentiments on this game a lot more GNR if the Tigers weren't so shaky against Penrith last week. Seriously, the team the Panthers fielded should not have gotten within 30 points of us, yet in the end, they only lost by 14\. Whilst the Tigers always had their measure, they lost concentration for a long period in the game and they can ill-afford to keep doing that against any of these bottom placed teams, who have nothing to lose. Apart from the Souths game, Parramatta have not been playing all that badly, they just haven't had a lot of luck in some games. Let's hope they are still out of luck come 5pm Sunday afternoon!

people are reading too much into the Panthers game. They were a little flat, which given the previous 2 weeks is understanable, but they got away with the win, which is the only thing that matters at this time of yr. I think they'll be switched on again come Sunday. If Souths can beat Parra by 50 why can't the Tigers?

1) Tim Moltzen
2) Matt Utai
5) Beau Ryan
14) Wade MacKinnon

There are 4 reasons right there. Worst back 3 in the comp, and an injured hack on the pine.

Parra will not budge.
regardless of where they are on the table, they have to prove to themselves that they do not deserve to finish with wooden spoon.

A wests-tigers win is all that counts.
the two pionts are the objective.
if it can be beneficial for points/agains then good.

Hayne absolutley carved us up last time we played them with his passing game and in particular long sharpe cut out passes to his back line. He's copped a lot of flack this week about him not being a 5/8\. He'll be red hot with the rest of the Eels rallying with him. Tigers are in for a torrid game. Parra love playing us and lift when they do. Also, I thought last week we started to show patches of our old impatient selves against the Panthers. Persoanlly I think we were a bit lucky to kick on to a reasonable scoreline. May have been a lot different if one or two calls didn't go our way. We dropped our guard at times last week and hopefully that will be enough for us to pull back into line. I think Parra will be just as hard as the Manly game. I wouldn't be suprised at all if this one doesn't go our way.

x 2 Alien if the Tigers play anywhere near their best we should win , but it won't be a walkover as some are suggesting My biggest concern is we haven't played a day game for quite a while

I wish I had the same confidence in the team as you GNR, but I've seen us lose games where we should have probably won by a convincing margin. Souths game earlier this year for a start, without Burgess, Asotasi and Inglis, everybody was expecting us to win by 13+ at the very least and what happens? We get BLOWN off the park, 27-0 at half time to them!

Touch wood that won't happen tomorrow and I'm sure it won't

Eels will fire up tomorrow. Titans beating Raiders tonight puts Eels at the bottom of the ladder. Bad enough eels are our bogey side but add the extra motivation of avoiding the dreaded wooden spoon, we can't afford to be complacent or throw as many lose passes as we did last time we played them. We were our own worst enemy that night. Didn't help that Benji played with an injury either.

A win in extra time wouldn't surprise me, it could be very close.
