Willie mason ???

is Skandarlis still retired?? lets bring him back too. while we are signing old washed up props

Skando will never retire. Lol. He's the John Farnham of Rugby League.

Golden, I can understand your logic. However, Mason would be coming to the club knowing this will be the last club in the NRL.

Yes, he has opened his mouth to much before, but I think if the club looks after him, he'll look after the club. IMO he's a real blokes bloke, that's all. All you haters, ask yourself this - what has he ever done really? He's blabbed a bit and taken a wizz in the wrong place…didn't our under 20's coach make a mistake like that last year?

Give him a decent go, back him. He knows it's his last real shot and I'm sure he will give it a real go. He won't want to be remembered as a bloke who had plenty of skill but never used it. I reckon we might see some of his best.

I HATE when clubs use the salary cap for an exuse when it clearly isn't the reason for letting players go.

Welcome to Sheensy World, just think the opposite to what he says and you should be right.

Look at the manly game we just played 2 SHort balls to big men near our line and 2 trys to manly . If willie cant do anything im sure we can get him running hard at a 5/8 with a short ball near the line , the way our players are dropping off i think we should inject TANIELA TUIAKI and SIMON DWYER with anything to get him on field

If they indeed sign mason that's a huge slap in the face to Gibbs and fifita. And pretty poor by the club too

Hmmm

Absolutely NONE of these media reports can quote anyone at Wests Tigers or Willie Mason's management as confirming this.

In fact, the last official word from either camp was "no"

…just saying

Is this confirmed?
Skimming through the comments here it looks like people are missing the big picture.

He would be a liability to our team (and not just physically) when we have worked so hard to rebuild our integrity following scandals of the early 2000s.. He is not welcome. He does NOT fit in with our team culture.
I know I for one will be voting with my feet if he is signed, as a matter of principle. I would be embarrassed to be barracking for a team with someone like Willie Mason in our line up.

He really hasn't done much bad… On par with Gallen or our man Toddy P. Certainly no where near what Rob Lui did! It's just that he is a complete goose and has a few brain cells missing.

He is from my home town in Newcastle actually. Blokes like Willie are a dime a dozen back there.

I dont think he is as bad as everyone makes out.. Hopefully Sheensys guidance might be all he needs.

Is it just me or are there an awful lot of newbie's here all of a sudden, where have you all been? Or are we using new aliases perhaps?

Anyway back on topic, If we get Willie just imagine what our forward pack will look like if we can get a good run with injuries?

Potentially we could even do this…

8\. Galloway
9\. Farah
10\. Woods
11\. Mason
12\. Ellis
13\. Blair

Then there's still Heighnington, Bell, Groat, Fulton, BMM and Moors up our sleeve.

Looks good helmsey!

Anyone who will not support the club because we sign Mason is being ridiculous.

I find it truly amazing that we are all on here (myself included) begging for Willie Mason to be signed by our club - I can't believe it has come to this! Such are our problems on the field, I guess.

i have said it before on here: have never liked the guy, but put him in a tigers jersey and if he does well then i would likely change my opinion very quickly!

im fickle that way…seeing the world through black white and orange glasses!

That is so true, but some people don't let the facts get in the way of a good old bagging,we need Mason, and he needs a club,it is a good fit IMHO,plus he will not be on the dollars Fifita was on,and nowhere near Gibbsy's coin.

I've never seen anything from masons camp saying no to the tigers. I know u stuck your neck out saying it was never gonna happen but so much goes on behind closed doors and the club will keep it on the downlow until it's cleared by the NRL.
