Naden isn’t a winger he is a center.

Oates would take in an instant.

AJ if he can cut the errors out would be very good for us. He is clearly struggling with the speed of the game and needs to increase his urgency & focus.

Outside of AJ we are in all sorts as our options are nothing. Talau isn’t a winger we have seen that before no point going back.

I’m so confused by this guy. He actually looks the goods. Run hards, has a great step and has some pace. Just can’t catch the ball if his life depended on it. If we lose that game we would all be talking about how he cost us the game with that dropped ball with 5 to go.

Right, so you wouldn't be talking about the ball that Mbye couldn't grab and put down for a try!

Or the three other chances he didn't have a 100% go at.

It’s a thread about our winger but yes your right I would have also been talking about mbye dropping the ball over the line to seal the game if we had lost.

Not sure why people think Kepoa should be in the team because of his mid field carries. He can't catch the ball. He should be dropped. No question.

Also Gebbie didn't even do pre-season so I wouldn't hold your breath on him doing anything.

Also Daniel Tupou is off contract. He's the one we should be going after.

Give Cini his debut between now and then

Cini cannot defend . He’s a turnstile

And how many matches have you watched him play in the last year?

Why did we punt Thompson again?

I think he wanted a release

Yeah we didn't punt him, he got a better offer from Titans and requested a release.

I watched him play at Corrimal and he has a good step, average pace and is now a bigger frame than back then. He was in the centres with Scolari on the wing and Stevanovic at right half covering him. What was obvious was that he needed to work overtime on his defence. Others may have a different opinion but his future may be as a lock or second row forward.

Ferguson and Sivo will run riot against our wingers when we play Parra on Monday. Not sure what the solution is though.

I feel like the easiest option is Oates for Walters . The Broncos subsidise his salary they get the prodigal son , and we get a winger , who’s on the right side of 30. Oates’ issue is someone has convinced him to play as an edge forward , when he’s clearly a winger . No different to Feldt , Pat Richards , Willie Carne etc , these tall rangy wingers who could have played edge but they arnt suited to there . He needs to accept this fate , and invest in this . Otherwise he won’t play first grade again .

He convinced himself that he was an edge forward and begged for a go to play there.

He obviously is not an edge forward - I think he probably is done anywhere.

Really he’s only 26 is he ? Seems a bit premature to me

Back on the wing in reserve grade and doing quite well apparently. His push to play back row has cost him though
He is terrible on & off the field, he was terrible in Intrust Cup would struggle to hold his spot.if he is on $500,000 Mbye should be on $1000,000. Gebbie will be pressing for a wing spot within the next month.

Sivo is a Kat.... Need to get someone to put it on him early - won't see much of him for the rest of the game.

Alternatively tackle around the legs - pushing it up hill to try to stop him up top.

I think Zac has improved immensely over the past 12 months or so and his numbers suggest it. Yes his defence might still need some work but I am happy to see him develop. He did play Australian Schoolboys so there must be talent in there somewhere. Would be happy to see him get a chance on the wing.

Great to see a Jersey Flegg player from 2019 getting better each week. Good on him.

I think we've all seen that Kepaoa is not up to first grade. We all have eyes so I'm not even going to bother explaining why.

The question is who do we have to come in and replace him?

Talau? Then we're short a centre.

Kei? Didn't play on the weekend, unproven on the wing.

Hoffman? I don't think he's a winger, and doesn't look ready in the centres either.

Cini? Thought he was impressive on the weekend at fullback, and did alright in the trials on the wing.

We have been linked to Naden and Corey Oates in the last week, so it's obvious the club is looking. Personally, I think Oates would be a good option, he has errors in him too, but he can do some really good things as well. Not a huge fan of Naden.

Signing Naden is a much better decision. A player yet to peak, struggling to crack it in a solid side. Much more upside for a lot less coin. Signings like that make competitive teams into premiership teams.

Isn't Naden a centre though?

Played both last year in the Panthers team. And pretty good at both. If we want an elite player in the role we should be looking at **Gagai**. Otherwise Naden will do fine and as I mentioned there is plenty of upside.

I think Luke Hooks might have to have a word with you about the Gagai suggestion

Here's hoping Kepaoa has undergone surgery this week to remove the two left feet that have been masquerading as his hands.

Perhaps it's rookie nerves or inexperience, but he has been making a lot of errors that simply shouldn't happen at NRL level.

Our kick chase game needs to be 'on'. Make them turn around, pin them in the corner and hope AD, Garner or Joffo can level them coming out.

We need to kick smart - away from Gutherson and don't let the wingers get easy catches. I think grubbers to Ferguson and Sivo might be more effective.

Wouldn't go near Oates, he's a broken biscuit. As for AJ, he had a much better game yesterday but his hands are a problem for sure. Did pull off some good tackles though for a change.

Didn't he get his vision fixed in the offseason to improve his catching 🤷‍♂️

Interesting - i take it then that you've been to all our trials and NSW Cup games this season then?

And you're saying that as a fullback he's a turnstile? I've seen him make a couple of good tackles, there aren't many opportunities for fullbacks to tackle so they often have a low percentage if they get isolated.

All i'm saying is that when he was a kid in school he was known to be an all out attack kind of player. However after training with the NRL squad over the past 2 years he may have learnt a thing or two and improved. He didn't get to play all of last year, so no-one knows if or how much he improved.

Playing at wing or fullback doesn't require the same level of defensive understanding. Look at Nof, he's been playing NRL for 8 years and still doesn't have a clue what he's doing in defence. At the minimum Cini is more elusive than Talau, Nofoaluma, Leilua and Kepaoa, and faster than all of them too. They've all had some issues with defence so Cini should be cut with the same amount of leeway those players are.

Battling of which winger was worse: Kepaoa vs Shibasaki

AJ turn the game for WT'S with his defence late in the game which resulted in a turn over when it was needed you have to remember he’s not a season first grader but is progressing well enough to hold his spot experience is a big think in the NRL

Yea , that’s a positional issue , of which I agree . My issue , was watching him , his contact was soft at best , arm grabbing stuff , that would get him eaten alive by MWZ , let alone , the Sivo’s of the world . And at fullback your right he may have fixed that , but I’m merely stating it from a “is he better than AJ” view point .
His attack on the weekend reminded me of the Morris boys . And his body could fill out into that. And probably will. But is he better than AJ right now , and due to our leaking of A lot of points , now 90 across 3 games , this is where my head is at .

Might be to our benefit . He’s a weapon when firing . And if he’s unhappy and stale at the Broncos he could be enlightened here . Hopefully Joe is in his ear , if they are mates

I'm sure everyone noticed last weekend Nofa spent the first half dancing around like a useless prat, second half started running direct and hard - was a total handful. Happens every year, I guess the coach must have given him a rev-up?

I don't think we'll get Naden. Penrith are aware of his quality and Melbourne have sniffed around him in the past. Oates I'm not sure about but he's on a lot of coin for a winger and has a lot of issues with injuries, but when he gets it right he's unstoppable.

I honestly think Gebbie is worth waiting for. he used to tear up QLD Cup for fun. he seriously could be anything, just needs a few months to get his body and his timing right. as for AJ, he was better defensively yesterday but his handling isn't NRL standard YET. he'll get there, hopefully the 2 points has him feeling a bit better come Easter Monday.

Think Justin Olam but faster. The PNG players only know one way to play.

I love watching the kummuls play, but jeez I would not want to take the field against them. Walking the length of the field on broken glass would be less painful. Hope Gebbie can live up to the hype.

Yes it was noticeable, I thought not as bad as last year though. Seems like the coach needs to remind him every 40mins. It had replaced the scrum as a way of getting a break.
