Woes and Spin

Newtown

Well-known member
Many of our players are past their prime
Most of our younger players are not up to first grade standard
Haven't any money to buy a reasonable player until 2017
Can't get a fair deal from the referees
We have hit the bottom of the competition
We play top four teams in the next few weeks

Can the coach/management please shine a light and enlighten us on what is really in store for 2016? Honesty to the fans is required and no more spin please

Taylor has inherited a playing roster and salary cap that's a mess. We r taking a hit this year and will retain a group of young guys. We will be no longer requiring the services of a host of players that are off contract this year and will acquire what we can to toughen up the side around those core youngsters. Fans have no choice but to be patient. How long do people think it should take to fix the mess the club is in?

What's Taylor agenda for his so called "spin". If his a con artist why wouldn't he of taken the easy road?

Who is in that "host of players" that should be shown the door? Galloway and Richards for sure. I would have put Lawrence in that group until his move to 2nd row, but he might just sneak a reprieve. Who else do you think? Halatau, Drinkwater….?

Most ill-informed ignorant post this year…..

We have probably the youngest squad ever in the NRL.
Most of those past their prime will be moved on (Richards, Galloway, Lawrence)
We can't do 3 until 2 is resolved
What has 4 got to do with the club?
Yes, you are correct we are currently last
Yes, we play the top 4 teams
2016 we will try to improve our position on the ladder

That will be fairly easy to do after coming last.

Starting off worse than we did this year , also( according to Taylor)with no additional players, and probably more players than ever who wouldn't wouldn't touch this club ( or Taylor ) with a barge pole.
Only way we will get any new players will be by playing overs, and so the cycle continues. Time to start our next 5 yr plan….oh that's right were already rebuilding aren't we.

All the above points are very valid except the referee one,
Also Taylor says ( last night) that we are still heading in the right direction

Doesn't this Fool realise that we are heading for the Spoon. How much further do we have to go in his " direction" There is no further than last
But, maybe they'l make a Sub SpoonCategory , for teams and Coaches who aren't good enough to be awarded the wooden spoon.
How some on here can swallow this peanuts BS , is absolutely, amazing

This is hilarious. Next year we are looking to move up from last. Give us another 15 -20 years and we will win the comp.

It actually is like a comedy show.
The thing that worries me though , is that some of our top players may be starting to look sideways at their managers, and asking what the hell are they doing here
As has been said over and over again, contracts don't mean much anymore, and there a lot here who don't believe in keeping players who want to leave.
A bad case of personal reasons is all it needs to start the process moving, if we were someone like Teddy or Tapau, why would we be wanting to cut our career short , by having to do all the work , and cop all the attention from the defence, rather than be in a strong team and having people who can put you into holes all day.

End result , playing at their top, and copping half the bashing that they get here.

With Taylor already having said that they won't be entering the market for players in 2016 ,
Realistically, you couldn't say with any confidence that we won't be in the bottom two or three again next year. Although there will be people who slavishly believe Taylor's spin, there's certainly no indication that we won't be , and no amount of Taylor preaching to his converted can deny that
Lists come up here from time to time , with who we want to be cut.
If, and when some of these players get to be on a real list of those leaving ,
there could be possibly some names that we don't want to see there, if Taylor's direction goes any further.
